After Michael’s death, she worked with Steve, a local police detective, to rid their small Texas town of a drug supplier. While their budding relationship showed promise, neither was ready or able to commit at the time.
The floral shop Jenny and her partner, Mitchell, operate, is burglarized, leaving Jenny angry, and feeling violated. Eventually, she reactivates her skills from working with Steve earlier and tries to help find the culprit.
In the meantime, Jenny and Steve rekindle their once promising relationship. But, the Chief of Police reminds Steve that employees cannot date crime victims, so their relationship is put on hold until the Jenny’s burglary is solved.
After an extended period, Jenny’s ex-husband, Ralph, is reconnecting with his and Jenny’s other kids, Scott and Alicia. He also puts out feelers about reuniting the family.
When Steve apprehends the floral shop’s burglary suspect, Jenny and Steve are free to resume their relationship.
Will Jenny turn to Ralph and reconcile their family, or will the relationship with Steve be Jenny’s future?
This novella is perfect for a quick read, has a good, even pace, a great plot, and good characters. I need to mention that Jenny’s kids, Scott and Alicia, are almost too good to be true. They are children of a divorce but are model young adults. However, there’s little time in a novella for complicated characters.
I’d recommend this book and will read it again. I give ‘One Perfect Love’ 5-stars.
I voluntarily read and provided an honest review of this book.
