This book pretty much proves the landings were fake. It deals with facts, not emotion or phoney patriotism. I saw the alleged Apollo 11 on tv as it was presented. Something about it didn't ring true, but I didn't have any technical knowledge to base my doubts on. This book explains the nuts and bolts of the whole operation. If you can put patriotism and emotion aside, there is no way the landings could have happened.

Modern science has peeled back truth's protective layers, as did Armstrong in his final speech
Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2015Verified Purchase
In addition to this work documenting much evidence of the day, most people don't realize that recent science has confirmed with 100% certainty that the landings were fake. Sadly, new electron microscopy of the Moon rocks show unmistakable organic fossils in every stone (fossilized bone fibers, skullcaps, brain tissue, neurons, muscle fibers, and wood fiber). One stone, that the astronauts personally presented to Holland, was recently identified as 100% petrified wood. NASA acknowledged "the mistakes" but offered no explanation. Quite embarrassing, but sadly true. Anyone can google-up the lab results online.
Additionally, Niel Armstrong in his final words to the public before he died, at the White House, said unmistakably that the truth behind the Moon landings was covered up ("underneath truth's protective layers"). Youtube that video for a very strange closing paragraph, he flat out tells the school children in the audience it was a lie, in words that completely crossed the Rubicon, but were ethereal enough to allow him to finish without being yanked from the stage by a secret service cane.

I have looked at this book and it is an excellent straightforward factual account about APOLLO'S FAKE MOON LANDINGS.
If you doubt the Moon Landing Hoax, at least read the book, then see what you think.

It is written in a manner that is easy to read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 6, 2017Verified Purchase
The book was written in 2005 and the English translation dates from 2007. It is written in a manner that is easy to read, and it also gives a very good survey of all the points that give cause to doubt the "small step for man" achievement. I am still not able to say with certainty that Apollo 11's descent stage is parked on the lunar surface, or whether it isn't, but one day we shall surely find out. In any case, reading the book was an interesting experience, and I certainly learned a whole lot that I didn't know before. I like Wisnewski's style of writing and I shall try to locate some of the other books he has written as well. Every so often I could not help to notice that he has a great sense of humor !

Too much politics, too little science
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 29, 2017Verified Purchase
This is not so much a book about the Apollo moon missions themselves, as about how the US administration had the motive, means, and opportunity to fake a moon landing, had it needed to. It is therefore more about cold-war politics than about science and engineering. The relevant question, according to Wisnewksi, is not whether the US faked the moon landings -- it is whether they _only_ faked the moon landings. The moon landings were unashamedly, openly, and necessarily "faked" in hundreds of highly detailed training scenarios, for many of which we have photographs and recordings. The "one small step" of the title refers not only to Armstrong's famous speech, but to how little distance there might have been between simulating a moon landing for the purposes of training, and faking one for the purposes of politics.
The book does deal -- perhaps rather briefly -- with the usual scientific objections and, in this at least, it does show a modicum of balance. The author points out -- quite correctly -- that the shadows of objects on the moon need not always be parallel to have been cast by the distant Sun. He shows how the notorious photographs that appear to show objects in front of the camera reticle (and therefore have been doctored) could be honestly explicable (something that won't be a surprise to anybody who has used a cross-hair rifle sight on a bright day). Instead, his objections are more sociological; he shows how, for example, levels of Apollo publicity (propaganda) correlate with the political set-backs of the administration from month to month.
Unfortunately, the author's anti-US axe-grinding make it rather difficult for me to take his arguments seriously. His views in this regard express themselves in sarcasm and unimaginative simile ("not the white of a duck's egg, but the olive green of a hand-grenade..."). Call me old-fashioned, but this is not the way I was taught to write if I wanted to be taken seriously. This is a shame, because One Small Step is thorough, and appears to be carefully researched. To be fair, though, I believe that English is not the author's first language.
As a scientist and engineer, I'm much more interested in the technical arguments surrounding the moon landings than I am in the politics. I don't need to read a book like this to believe that the US administration would have faked up a moon landing if that was the only way it could maintain the country's political position. Of course it would; I suspect that many governments would. I remember my father telling me way back in the early 70s that "everybody knew" that the USSR had faked their space missions. Suspicion of the US was perhaps not as profound in '69-'70, but Watergate soon fixed that.
If you're interested not in whether the US would, or could, fake a moon mission, but whether it _did_, then I'm not sure that One Small Step contains enough science to sway the argument one way or the other.
