Verified Purchase
I love Angie Aparo... his voice truly touches your heart and soul. Just the cover of Rocket Man was worth the purchase price alone. He is a unique singer. On this albumn he's a little Beatles, a little Dylan, a little Nilsson... Loved the duet with his Mom especially - though I wish it had been recorded in a studio for better sound quality.
Incredible music. Once more, Angie Aparo does something a little different with this CD of mainly cover songs, showing again that he is truly a bold independent artist. Each one, though a cover, is quite different than the original and they take on new feelings and meanings. There are two originals-- Rotten and Nazis on My Radio-- that are really worth checking out. In an endearing finale, Angie sings the folk song "The Water is Wide" as a duet with his mother.
If you like Angie's stuff, check out his newest CD and his original CDs that are both independent releases and available online through awarestore. One With the Sun (his first CD) is a little less pop and a bit more folky with heartwrenching songs that really can touch the soul, and For Stars and Moon (2003) is more poppish and even Beatles-inspired on the most upbeat note out of any of Angie's CDs.

I was excited when this album came out b/c Angie does a great job with covers when he plays them live. The versions of "Imagine" and "Rocket Man" are great.
