On another note, I floved reading more about Quinn and Chase. And I'm interested to see if anything comes out later about Tucker.
I would definitely recommend both books.
I really enjoyed this book. The build up, the chemistry, just the overall realness to it. I pretty much read it in a day and was so happy to get the opportunity to read and review. I liked The Last Thing a lot but I just adored this book.
Ginger (h) is struggling with the Hollywood life and keeping up a charade she doesn't want to deal with anymore. She has had enough of her fiance's cheating habits and is ready to call it quits. She relies on partying and drinking A LOT.
Ginger meets Caspian (H) in Tennessee on her way to an audition and the sparks fly but Caspian isn't her type and she is confused as to why she feels drawn to him almost instantly.
Caspian is in a band and has his own problems to deal with to keep the band together...one being his ex. When he meets Ginger he is attracted to her but there is something more, something he sees in her that most people don't. And one night starts the beginning of a blooming friendship.
I loved Caspian! I thought he meant well in everything he did and yeah he made a few mistakes along the way but he was a great guy. Ginger I wasn't so sure about at first but slowly as Caspian gets to know the real Ginger so does the reader and I liked how her personality unfolds with the book.
I'm not a big fan of H's smoking so I loved how they decided on this pact to rid themselves of their bad habits.
The one thing I found unique in this book is that the H and h's relationship was primarily all cyber or phone conversations and it spanned over several months time, so they really got to know each other. I just loved the build up to their relationship it was so well done (I know I already said that)! And what a terrific epilogue, I was like YES finally.
Booker and Aly...Ugh I'm so mad at them. I'm interested in the next book because at this point in time I really think they are some horrible friends and people. I hope they redeem themselves.
I highly recommend!
I started reading this book with so many expectations and yet what I read was much better and different than anything I expected. I was surprised by Caspian and Ginger's relationship. It was slow and beautiful, each of them trying to give to the other without losing bits and pieces of them self. I loved being able to see their texts and emails as they communicated with each other over time. I did get a little frustrated with them at times for their stubbornness in not moving things along and the reasons why they were doing so.
I think I was most surprised by Ginger's past and what she wanted. I never expected her to be so vulnerable to the statements and digs at her. I always thought she was tough and didn't care, but it turns out appearances are deceiving. It was good to see her with Quinn and Chase, and to see how they were doing as well. I do hope this series continues. I'm really impressed with how Briana Gaitan handled this book and I'd like to see how Ginger and Caspian are doing in the future.
Ginger and Barrett have had a up and down relationship. Some how they even managed to get engaged. Even though he keeps cheating on her she stays with him. When finally enough is enough. Starting to drink heavy Ginger's life is starting to spiral out of control. A chance meeting with Caspian outside a building in Nashville starts a friendship that becomes so much more.
I liked Ginger in the first book with Quinn and Chase and was glad she got her own story. As Ginger starts drinking more to escape her problems, Caspian knows they can't be more then friends. He has been down that road and their lives are so vastly different. He promises to help Ginger to be the one she can call when it gets to hard. Ginger makes him promise to quit smoking. As their lives have the ups and downs of their chosen professions and relationships they find themselves slowly falling in love with each other. Neither knows if they could have any kind of relationship or even if they should take a chance.
