*5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read An inspiring factual account of a horrific crime where you feel the victim's pain as the investigator digs to seek justice. A page-turner from the start! by Lynn Kay*5.0 out of 5 stars Triumph over tragedy, May 31, 2012 By Roso -Jennifer lives the nightmare that all women dread. She was attacked and raped. Terrified, because she has seen her attacker's face, she still reports the rape. It takes almost 20 years before a suspect is found. In that time she must learn to live again, to trust again and yes, to love again. Terrifying. Should be required reading for all women AND men.

This review is from: One Voice Raised: A Triumph Over Rape (Paperback)What an incredible story. If it were fiction, Jennifer Wheatley-Wolf would be critically acclaimed for her writing abilities, but the fact that it is a true story makes it that much more amazing. Thank you for sharing your tragedy and your journey. This book is truly inspiring for anyone that doesn't want the quiet and voiceless to endure one second of what Jennifer encountered and lived with for 21 years.

From the Author

For twenty-one years, I believed the man who raped me in my home in 1988 would remain a mystery. I never saw his face. There was not much evidence. Over the years, no one was arrested or charged with committing the crime. It didn't take long for me to believe that no one would ever be arrested.

I wrote this story for all rape and sexual assault victims in the hope that the importance of reporting the crime is made clear. As survivors, we hold the key, the power, to stop rapists by reporting the crime and seeing it through to conviction. Nearly 70% of all rapes go unreported. We CAN make a difference.

William Joseph Trice was free to continue his life of abuse and sexual assault for 21 years. He was arrested numerous times. He spent several months in jail for indecent exposure to a minor. It was not until after conviction in 2010 that he was linked to 2 more victims bringing the total of known victims to 4. Only he knew how many women should have their day in court.

I hope those who have a similar story, but have lost faith, will
once again believe that good does eventually triumph over evil and not give up
hope. This book is for those who have lost the ability to believe in themselves and the kindness of others, who doubt they are strong enough to reassemble their lives after a horrible encounter, and for those who have forgotten it's okay to stumble, forgive yourself, and get back to living.
