Buy crossroad instead of this if you want a compilation of Bon Jovi's hits.

Bon Jovi are a Live peoples band and the best way to hear that is at one of their concerts. As for on CD, yeah it gives you the songs and some of the atmosphere, but not the buzz of being their in person. Probably why they took so long in doing a live album? As live albums are not as fashionable as they used to be back in the 70's. Pre-plastic metal coated 5" mini jewel cased disks, that lack the 12" feeling. Missing the smallest of details on the cardboard covers artwork by designers like Rodney Matthews, with your over sized headphones on to block everything else out and close your eyes and imagined being there at the gig. Now skip passed the BETA & VHS best debate to DVD or Blue-Ray filmed concert era, to see and hear the excitement of a live concert as it nearly as it should be of an artist that is projected onto your TV and the new age of concert excitement began.

It’s a fantastic album, it has songs like livin on a prayer, keep the faith and wanted dead and alive!
Having some of the early songs like “runaway” is really nice hearing the final high note of Jon’s voice!
If you want an album which has a mix of songs from 1985-2002 then this album is perfect for you.

I love Bon Jovi, I have since the very beginning back in 84, but this album is a real let down. No-one who has seen them live can agree that this is a first class album, or even representative of what seeing them live is like. I have heard them play better live versions of all the tracks on this album. What is missing from this album is the sheer showmanship that is Jon on stage - it just doesn't come across. The levels at which the various instruments are recorded don't sound right either, thay just don't gel like they really do live. If you're going to see Bon Jovi live for the first time this summer, don't go expecting it to be like this album - the real deal is a million times better!!!
