Good scabbard, with a baffling design flaw

Good quality scabbard, well made and fits my Mossberg perfectly, with enough space so that the side saddle slips right in.

Molle straps are nice, I keep extra shells and pouches attached. Makes it very handy to grab and go knowing that I have plenty of extra rounds on the scabbard itself.

However, there is a major drawback: the shoulder strap D-rings are mounted on the same side as the Molle attachment straps... Why?

The other side of the scabbard is smooth, and would lie perfectly along your back if the D-rings were on that side. If I try to carry it slung over my back, the pouches I have attached keep it from sitting snugly and securely against my body, causing it to move around and begin to chafe and get very annoying.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I don't understand this design at all. It seems absurd, and keeps this scabbard from being perfect in my eyes. I really wish the D-rings had been on the other side.

I have a Mossburg 500 combo with a shotgun scope mounted. It comes with the 18.5" barrel and the longer 29" barrel for hunting. The gun is primarily used with the short barrel and it fits like a glove in the scabbard, even with the scope mounted. Very good quality product, especially for the price point. As the other customers photos show, the case is nice and thick, it will protect the gun well. Its very smooth lined interior is snag free and will go a long way in preventing the gun from being scratched up. The Molle straps are a nice addition that can be used to attach other pouches and accessories. The extra full length outside zippered pocket is a very nice touch. The only negative that I see is the shoulder strap is thin and should be thicker, but no big deal as I have other shoulder straps that I can swap out. If you're a south paw, you can flip the gun over and the scabbard holds it in place equally as well.

Awesome. This was one of those "it looks like it will do the job and the price is reasonable even if it turns out to be "just OK"" buys. I was VERY pleased and surprised by the quality of this scabbard. It fits my Mossberg 500 ATI Scorpion (pistol grip) PERFECTLY. I'm ordering another one for my AR. The 1000D nylon is VERY nice, almost Cordura-quality like you'd see from Maxpedition. If you have Maxpedition gear as I horde; this is VERY similar to their teflon treated Cordura 1000D. The molle straps are nice, well-stitched; haven't mounted it to a bag yet. The ONLY thing I would improve is the shoulder strap/metal connections. It's fine but I'm going to use another strap from one of my other bags on it. This is a no brainer at this price point. If it were a Maxpedition or Hazard4 brand etc, it would be selling at $79-$89. This is a steal at $38. One last thing is that there is a nice rigid insert along the length to make sure this scabbard holds its shape. It feels like it's 1/4" PVC etc, can't see it just feel it but it keeps the structure rigid and makes sure your long gun moves in / out easily.

Recently purchased a Mossberg Shockwave have been looking for a scabbard for this weapon to carry for self protection. Ran across this scabbard and please don't listen to the other comments that have been posted regarding the fit. I added a side saddle to this weapon and it fits perfect it can be drawn from behind your back with no problem if needed to defend. the trigger is covered and the weapon has plenty of room to spare. it draws very easy. It appears to be very durable. could be used to carry in truck its a keeper. Remember always protect your secon amendment rights

I have a semi auto 12ga with side saddle shell holder and side mounted tactical flashlight. At first it was a bit tight and I had to be careful when inserting gun that I didn't catch charging handle. After the gun has sat in case for couple weeks, it seems to have molded/stretched well. No issues quickly drawing shotgun. I'm not sure how the interior will hold up over time since the extras I have on my shotgun drag the sides a bit. But this gun isn't withdrawn and holstered multiple times daily like a duty gun might be, so I do feel it's worth the money for my usage.

This really is a great quality scabbard. I have a Stevens Security with a front light on it, and it fits great.
IF you want to use the Molle system, for some reason they put the strap D-rings on the same side as the Molle system.
I have a nice Windaze Shell Holder - but when attached to the Scabbard, it is uncomfortable.

For heavy or professional use don't be cheap like me.
Edit: This scabbard has sheets of stiff plastic and firm foam on-in each side to give it body.
My shotgun has a Streamlight laser-light on the side of the forend which made it too wide to fit correctly.
I cut open the liner just under the zipper and pulled out the sheet of stiff fabric and now it accommodates my gun.
