Jade Johnson was raised to believe that a man will hold her back from achieving her dreams. Yet, while temporarily living in the small town of Cedar Springs, Jade comes face to face with a man who sets her world on fire and immediately challenges her beliefs. Jade is unsure that she can let go of those lifelong beliefs, drilled into her by her mother, and allow herself to follow her heart.
I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Aitken knows how to tell a wonderful story and makes me want to live in Cedar Springs. This was an intriguing and interesting story with very authentic characters. This is the second book in The McCormicks series, but each book is a standalone story. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I was given a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
Mitch came home to get away and help his brother out. He also was meeting his step sister for the first time. It wasn't her fault things were kind of messed up.
That's when he met Jade. She was totally high maintenance kind of women. He tried to talk himself out of being with her. They came to an understanding they would only be friends. The only problem was he liked spending time with her a lot.
Jade was in Cedar Springs for one reason and one reason only. She had to get this show off the ground. But that's when she met Mitch McCormick which was a distraction she didn't need. They could just be friends. Well a spark between them was pretty intense.
Would Mitch and Jade take it to the next level, or just remain friends?
You will need Kleenex for this book.
Highly recommend and also the first book.
Ian and Gwen-LOVE IN THE MOMENT
Wow! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better Elena Aitken proves me wrong. Elena Aiken shows readers why she is a great author. She has a great writing style.
We get to read Mitch McCormick's and Jade Johnson's story. Jade is all about her career. It's career first and everything else second. Jade is in Cedar Springs to work on a project with Gwen (from book 1). Jade was raised to believe men and children interfere and complicate life. Men hold you back from what you want is what she believes. She wants her focus on her career.
Mitch McCormick is a teacher. Mitch is a former playboy. He longs to change that. Mitch longs to find an amazing woman and settle down.
When Mitch and Jade meet Sparks begin to fly. There is a chemistry that is undeniable. Their struggles and emotions they feel are amazing. I felt I could really relate to their situation. Their story made my heart swoon. I also cried and laughed. I love their story. I'm very invested in the McCormicks.
I give this 2 thumbs up and 5 stars. I highly recommend this story. Come on and read why I love this story and see why I love Elena Aitken.
