I am very in-tune with my body. I have used a huge number of the most expensive anti-oxidant and post workout supplements commercially available from Vegasport, to pounds of fresh organic raspberries. I eat a vegetarian diet very high in phytochemicals, I can do over 200 incline pushups in a 20min period. I know the difference phytochemicals can make in reducing recovery time after heavy anaerobic workouts. I can tell the difference between a cheap pill or tablet and a whole food. My primary concern with buying a concentrate was nutrient loss in the extraction process and shelf life. My concerns were put at ease immediately after tasting the extreme tartness of the concentrate, and the nearly instantaneous alleviation of pain from muscle inflammation.
One of the things I like about concentrate is you can make it as strong as you want, from a table spoon of thick syrup, to a glass of flavored water. Another use I have found is if you feel a cold coming on you can drink this stuff straight and not only will it coat a sore throat it will cure it; I believe because of the acidity of the juice. If you drink this straight, as a concentrate, it will hurt your teeth, that is the level of tartness and potency.
I highly recommend this. In 2013 my local health food store sold this for over $16. I added this to my subscribe and save order to get 15% off, which currently at $11 I feel is a deal that cannot be beat!
Hope that helps.
Update later in the day: I called the manufacturer about this issue. I was told that Amazon did not obtain the product from them but from another distributor. (True. It was "VitaminsHub.") I then contacted Amazon and got approval for a return pickup and a refund. Nothing like a generous and easy return policy to hold customers through appreciation. (I know, there is also annoyance due to customer inconvenience. But if one's state of mind is still a choice, the state of appreciation has more temperate weather.)
February 18, 2014 update: Ordered the cherry concentrate again, this time from Nutrition Worldwide via Amazon. When I received the product, I noticed it was the same batch date of 12/17/13, which didn't bode well. Upon opening the bottle, it was the same color, runny consistency, and medicinal taste as the previous two bottles that were returned for a refund. With a batch date of December 2013, it seems the product degradation isn't the result of sitting on the shelf too long.
