After I read " The Only Exception" I have to read this because this is the second in the series. Let me tell you if you think the first one was good then you will this this one is amazing. As soon as I started reading this book I could not put this book down for the life of me. This book is so highly addicting and will have you on the edge of your seat until the every last page. This book pulled on my heart string so many times at times it all most took my breath away. This book is full of hot sexy as hell men that will have you needing a cold shower. In this book the character will have to deal with some really big life changing things .

Melanie Wilder is a college student, Manager at a campus coffee shop, Honor student. Her best friend talked her into going to a college party where she bumps into John Boy . She think he is out of her league but one kiss she will not ever for get . But the next day at work who would show up but she cant stop thinking about. The night she thinks she going to have sex with him she gets a phone call that change her life for ever. But she its a surprise of her life because the last person she would think that would support her . But will she realize that the person she cant live with out or will it be to late for her to have her happy ever after.

John " John Boy" is used to having one night stand . But every thing changes once he see Melanie and he will do what ever it takes to have her . But what he did not have planned was having to help her deal with her life changing things.

But can they make it through what life has in store for them or will it be to much for them to have their happy ever .

I did not want to give to much of this story away because this book is amazing. This book has a special place in my hear because of the store because it hit close to home. This is a must have to read . I cant wait to read more from with author

"I want to be your knight in shining armor. To take away the pain. I've never felt like this before and whatever we have, I don't want to lose it" - John Boy

After reading The Only Exception, I was more than excited when Magan Vernon announced that a sequel was in the works. Then I heard John Boy was the main character...and I had a head scratch moment. Trey's fraternity brother? I mean come on...a guy named John Boy?

Yup, I've learned my lesson. Number one: Never judge a person by their outward appearance. Number two: Never, ever, ever, judge a fictional character by their outward appearance...because trust me, John Boy Walden made me smile, laugh and swoon!

So basically, the gist of the story is that Melanie, Monica's best friend attends a Halloween Party with Monica and Trey at the Alpha Mu house. Not even a minute into the book, Melanie crashes into John Boy, wearing a loincloth...and nothing else. As you can imagine, sparks (and a little bit of lust) fly, and though Monica warns Melanie off, she and John can't resist one another. Just as things heat up, Melanie receives news that has the potential to throw a permanent wrench in the burgeoning relationship.

I like Magan Vernon as an author; her writing has a good flow and she really has a knack for creating characters that feel real; who go through both highs and lows. Her depiction of college life is really spot on, and that's coming from a college student herself. Still, as I mentioned, my favorite part of Magan's writing, is her characters.

My favorite character by far, in both The Only Exception and The Only One, was John Boy. Though I judged him harshly, John Boy won me over with his easy smiles and charm.

This was a sweet story of finding love. John is perfect! He's one of the sweetest guys I've read. He's hot, protective, caring and PATIENT. There is not one single bad thing I can say about his character. From the first moment he meets Melanie, until the end, he is perfect. Melanie's character is okay. She is extremely immature for her age and a bit selfish. Yes, she has to go through a lot, but John never gave her any reason to doubt his intentions and she roadblocks their relationship every single day over and over. I cannot imagine that a guy looking like him, as popular as he is, and at that age in college, would have been as diligent and put up with so much. She pushes him away constantly and always justifies the blame to someone or something else. But .... Melanie aside, this story was a good story. I liked all of the other characters. I adored John. You get a HEA and there is no cliffhanger. The POV is Melanie's throughout the book, with the exception of the Epilogue which is John.

Please don't let my personal opinion of Melanie keep you from reading this book. It deals with a topic that should be discussed, especially with college aged students. I honestly think that John steals the attention in this book and it's worth reading because of him.

What can I say about The Only One? How long have you got? I could talk about Mel and John Boy from Sunrise to Sunset!

Magan Vernon is fast becoming one of my favourite New Adult authors. I think my favourite thing about Magan's New Adult novels (aside from the hot guys and kick ass girls) is the relevance of the stories. Not only do we get a hot romance but we also get real life issues that can raise awareness and help people. I really liked that about The Only exception and it continues in The Only One. Magan can make fun, flirty books without having them be ridiculously unrealistic, there are no virgins having 6 orgasms during their first time here, or any other questionable scenario. I can relate to these types of stories because I can believe them to be true as they aren't sensationalised for the sake of entertainment yet the story still maintains that fun, sexy edge.

Mel is Monica's friend from The Only Exception so the good news is we get more Trey and Monica in this book too :) It's at a frat party Mel comes nose to chest with a partially naked John Boy with only a loin cloth covering his modesty. Of course Monica intervenes straight away and tells Mel not to go there. John Boy is a player and will break her heart. But it wouldn't be much of a story if Mel listened to her best friend would it now?

And of course John Boy received the same warning. Mel is deemed too nice for his player reputation. Too late for warnings though, John Boy already had Mel within his sight. So lots of flirting and teasing ensues but before things can really take off Mel receives some news that turns her world upside down.

Even though John Boy is insanely hot, cheeky and downright delectable it really is Melanie who is the star of the show. I loved her.
