Great book on the background of the artists that contribute to the New Yorker (and other magazines). Not many cartoons, but some are unpublished works and can give an idea of how the artist conceptualized an idea.

I too read the New Yorker with great glee for the comics. Alas as I live in Mexico it is difficult to acquire the New Yorker consistently, mail is a bit iffy.
