Ronnie Clark knows what it's like to be abandoned. Her own mother taught her that. If the baby left in her motel room really is the son of a sister she never knew she had, he'll never know that pain. Even if he isn't, she can't just leave him. Never.
Joshua Dawson knows his duty. It's to his motherless children. But it's also to Sorrow's Point, the small town on the Texas coast he has sworn to defend. His town is harrassed by a series of robberies. His children are scarred by the knowledge their mother was murdered. And now, a girl shows up with an infant being chased by a fanatical religious cult. Can any man do it all? He has to.
This is a story about ordinary people being thrown into extraordinary drama and battling their through it with courage and love. The reader will relate to the characters and be horrified at what they have to go through. I was with them every step of the way.
Onslaught is another Teri Thackston winner.
I have spent my entire life near the Texas coast so I'm very familiar with hurricanes blowing in from the Gulf. The setting from this novel sounds very much like my home town so it was very realistic to me.
Teri is an excellent writer and weaves an interesting story. I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
I'm looking forward to reading other books she has written.
