Yes, this works fine with the latest v9 firmware. The problem though, is with the firmware itself and not this splitter. I have a Nomad wireless charger in my Model 3. The left is plugged directly into the left USB port. I use this splitter on the right side. The Nomad plugs into power-only, and the thumb drive I have partitioned in 2 (FAT32) for the built-in dashcam and for USB music is plugged into the data/power port. Both work fine, and my phone charges on the pad as well.

Now to wait for Tesla to fix the drive corruption issues. That's a whole different story.

11/6/18 UPDATE

With firmware 42.4 on my Tesla Model 3, dash cam recording/USB music are now working great. No more TeslaCam partition corruption, and the drive mounts every time when car is powered on now.

I use this as a charging cable to power two devices from one usb port and it works great. This cable will only transmit data from one of the connectors as described by the seller. Other reviewers should not rate a product down just because they did not read the product description. It's like blaming McDonalds for serving you meat when you are a vegetarian and did not read the menu.

I wanted a solution where I could power both a chromecast 2nd gen and an LED backlighting strip on my tv. My previous attempt of trying to run a USB extension cable behind my wall wasn't working - that ran into a surge strip via 2amp usb charger. I found the Chromecast would reboot frequently. After seeing others with this issue, it seemed to be power-related (and probably a poor usb extension cable on my part. After reading other reviews about powering the chromecast and other devices, I figure I'd give it a shot for $6. I plugged the backlighting into the red port and the chromecast into the other. Plugged usb into the tv, and since then, no more chromecast reboots. It's simple, and saves energy, as the chromecast and LED light strips are only on when the tv is on. Great product - will buy more and recommend for other tvs and to others who have my same setup.

Seems to be working so far! I’m using this in my car to charge my phone and power the Bluetooth transmitter at the same time. Instead of buying a car charger splitter I decided to give this usb splitter a try. Now, with one usb car charger I’m able to use Bluetooth transmitter and charge my phone at the same time. My car’s radio doesn’t have a Bluetooth. The reason why I’m not using a charger with two slots is that I have a dashcam plugged into the acc slot whose adapter has a built in usb slot. So, in summary, I’m actually powering three devices at the same time with minimum adapters and minimum space taken. I recommend this if you have the same situation as I do.

This is ideal for my needs I have a car and need to connect a USB drive and a phone charger to one USB port. It is working great. Build quality is great. I think you will find all the annoyed people thought this was a USB hub, it is not. The vendor is as specific as they can be, so I do not understand the annoyed people. In the car, all the space counts. do not want a USB hub this is ideal. You could make this your self by splicing an extra USB end to the USB power lines, but a professional product is more robust.
