Open Hand Cookbook--Great Chefs Cook for Friends - In October 1989, the World Series was starting, I was exploring my new cookbook, when the earth shook, really, really shook. It was terrifying, the lights went out, the World Series & the TV disappeared, but I did not drop my new Open Hand cookbook. A warm, generous book I knew held many special dinners, lunches, picnics. Earth quake or not I was soon cooking for my friends. Many, many wonderful celebrations were inspired by my Open Hand cookbook. But sadly my favorite cooking inspiration disappeared until It occurred to me that maybe I could own it again through Amazon. It took as long as it took to build the the new Bay Bridge, but once again I have my Open Hand cookbook with all its memories of glorious occasions & San Francisco history.

A wonderfully inspiring Cook Book - clearly written, inviting you to try each special recipe! Chef Schneider asked his friends to contribute recipes for their own friends and consequently for ALL of our friends! Compiled lovingly by the author, even non-cooks are captivated by each recipe aimed at pleasing the guest and the chef! We are guided through the preparation by each contributor to this book that is divided into the 4 seasons (Wolfgang Puck, Alice Waters, Jeremiah Tower, Lenee Arlen, Peggy Knickerbocker are a few of the chefs). A very lively book which is an introduction to many different cuisines, written clearly and presented with great style! Robert Schneider has given us a true jewel that becomes your good friend! A treasure Not to be missed by amateurs or professionals!
