First off, I'm 27 years old. No, I don't have any kids. As strange as that may seem considering we're talking about Open Season, it's true! I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit. I rented it because I was looking to pick up some achievement points and figured it'd be an easy 1000. As another poster mentioned however, it was a lot more challenging to complete the game than I anticipated. Yes, it can be completed by an adult in 3 or 4 hours, but it took me closer to 8 to get the full 1000 points. I'm sure you could double or triple that for someone younger...not to mention the fact that the replay value would be much higher as well. I thought the graphics were sharp and the voice work was pretty spot on considering they didn't use the real actors from the movie. I actually found myself chuckling out loud on quite a few occasions as well.

The only flaw that I could see was the fact that the game made you follow a set path. You could deviate off the path a little bit, but couldn't go out and explore on your own. That being said, we're not talking about Oblivion here. In the end, it's only a minor gripe.

Overall, I really enjoyed Open Season. It was refreshing to pick up a game and just have fun with it without worrying about too many different factors. I'm a huge fan of games like Gears of War and Ghost Recon, but Open Season actually made me wish that there were more games like this around.

My kids have a blast with this game. They like trying to find all of the coins and badges to complete the story. It is a cute game to watch my kids play because it is very kid appropriate all of the time and it has some very funny parts in it as well.

The game is playable. It really does not do anything well at all. Most of these games based on movies are no good and this is no exception. Easy set of achievements though and if you want to bump up your score this will do it in about 5 hours.

This was a difficult game for my "GAMER" 5 year old. I had to do 75% of the game for him. Now that he is 6 he breezes through it. It was frustrating at times and contols a little quirky, but overall a fun game that stays true to the movie.

Open Season - Xbox 360

Let me start off by saying I am 60 years old and I have 6 grand kids ranging from 6 to 19. We all love playing this game. An experienced game player might be able to play the game in 3 to 4 hours but we like taking our time, exploring every where and having a good laugh as Boog picks up Elliot and throws him. Some times I would pick up Elliot and throw him against a rock or tree just for the heck of it. I think that there was more they could h ave done with the game than they did but it was still pretty fun. Some of the games can be a little hard to win but over all it is not a hard game at all.

This would be a great kids game! .. However, the game-play is bland, repetitive, & the story is far too linear.
The achievements come easy, with the minor exception of one or two.
easy, minimum fun, low replay value.

I was happy to finally get a game for the Xbox 360 for my 6 year old son. Yes, one can speed through the game in 3-4 hours, but to get all the achievements it forces one to keep playing and re-doing the scenes. We have been going at it for the last several weeks, and still have not gotten all the achievemnts. They are not hard for an adult, but my son finds it challenging, and I frequently have to help him. Plus we get to play together on the multiplayer part of the game. We have not seen the movie yet, but plan on doing so, and I agree that the gameplay is smooth, the graphics are great, and perfect for small children, and their parents playing with them. In surround sound, the game sounds awsome. For an adult its mindless fun, but the game is targeted for children and with the attempt at getting 1000/1000 for achievemnts, it actually is a little challenging.
