Get this one over her "Lost in You". She sings very soft but it has no spark. She does "Downtown" on that one in a very quiet way. I missed the upbeat and full orchestra.
This is a good buy and yes, we still love you, Petula!
It's natural to expect to hear a distinct difference between the songs recorded in the 1970s and 80s and those recorded last year, but this is not the case. Amazingly, Clark's voice is as rich as it was thirty years ago. The two recent tracks on this CD sound as if they were recorded in the same era as the nineteen that precede them. This is a welcome addition to the collections of both dedicated and casual Clark fans and all lovers of good music.

Track two is just heart breaking. More Love is (was) an unreleased gem from the early 80's and is worth the price of this album alone. It really is one of Petula's best.
Even if you're not a religious person Open Your Heart will have you raising up your hands during the chrous. It's very powerful.
Good Things Don't Last Forever is a nice little slice of disco-esque pop and I'd love to see Petula performing this. Sadly that won't happen as this was yet another unreleased gem and the same applies to Come To Me For Love. It's a laid back floaty track with a gorgeous vocal.
Sweet Swiss Valley is charming and penned by Petula. Thank You My Love has a great arrangement and just keeps growing and growing and feels like it should have a 'cold' ending instead of fading out...
Super Loving Lady has weird production. It's honky tonk with elements of a show tune, country and glam rock!!! It has to be heard to be believed. I love it!
A Song For You is haunting and is quite something.
When I played Can't Take My Eyes Off You I was instantly reminded of Donna Summer (!) imagine my surprise and delight when I saw this pre-dates Donna Summer's disco stuff by a three or four years. This is a sexy and sensual version and produced by Bob Crewe, who wrote it.
I really like In The City. Petula's songs should be used more in film and television because this sounds like a theme...
Of course there are other gems here including the amazing Silver Spoon and Fixing To Live and the ever lovely Didn't I Say I Love You and one of my all time favourites, The Wedding Song (There Is Love).
This is exactly what a compilation album should be.
