I've mounted up a Logitech G920 with manual shifter and it fits perfectly, all hardware was included for sturdy mounting (no wiggle/wobble or anything in the steering column). The seat is also very high quality and I love the quick adjust settings, it's definitely large enough for a full-size adult. I'm six foot standard build and there's plenty of room for someone even larger than myself to be comfortable.
I recently added a USB extension cord to increase the distance between the console and the G920 as the OEM cord is pretty short once set up on the rig. Audio can be streamed through headphones via the controller for an immersive surround-sound experience without disrupting others.
The only shortcoming of this rig that I've found is the center-post mount for the steering wheel — that being said, there are plenty of configuration options and I don't have any issues accessing the pedals. Next addition will be a Buttkicker Gamer2 for even more immersion, but even without it this right has totally changed the experience of driving games. 10 out of 10 I would buy this again for the price.
But it is not perfect. You get what you pay for. It is basically on the ground. Not an easy in and out for an old guy like me. I noticed the pics of it being used all have the stilts or lift kit. And they can be yours for a bit more money. Also noticed that the top of the seat does not conform to the driver. They advertise a racing headrest type pillow to attach there. More dollars. After that it is good go to go.
Very sturdy. Fully adjustable for all driver shapes and sizes. With the add-ons it is a great seat. Just have to pay for the extras.
Packaging - 9 of 10 (box was beat up, contents all perfectly intact)
Quality 10 of 10
Comfort 8 of 10 (it's a racing seat, I highly recommend the optional lumbar support with brings it to a 9 of 10
Durability/Stability 10 of 10 - This isn't going anywhere and feel solid under all circumstances
Setup/Assemble 10 of 10 - Assembly took me approximately 1 hour including reading the instructions and taking my time. REALLY good instructions are included as well as tools and extra hardware, rest assure anyone can assemble this product quickly and easily
Portability - 9 of 10 - The wheels on the front make moving the racing seat easy and simple, it does take up some extra room but that is to be expected of any dedicated racing setup
I have about 2 weeks of play time on my openwheeler and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Affordable and offers all the intangibles of the more expensive competitors. I'm 6' 3" and quickly found a comfortable position for the wheel and pedals with the excellent range of adjustment possible. I also game on both PS4 and XBOX One and was able to purchase a separate wheel mount by contacting the seller, making swapping between consoles about a 3 minute job.
Highly recommend the optional lumbar support if you are old and soft like me - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KVYNOK2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I added the OpenWheeler Seat Lift Kit and OpenWheeler Universal Bracket so I could mount a Buttkicker mini LFE subwoofer to my setup. With these upgrades I no longer have a racing seat, I own a racing simulator!
The item was packed very well and the box was no larger than it needed to be. Assembly and setup were a breeze. I suggest you get the Seat Lift Kit at time of purchase to simplify the setup process and save you the trouble from disassembling it all later. I believe the seat lift kit should be included standard since it's so good, but understand the manufacturer is trying to hit a lower price point to compete with other solutions.
My first recommendation for future improvement includes changing the location of the three large knobs on the base of steering column and main support. Their placement makes entry and exit a bit awkward and it seems like I'm always bumping my feet into them. The rig is sturdy enough, but if they could place the large knobs on the side it would make entry and exit easier. My second recommendation would be to alter the design so I could push the steering wheel further away from me, but bring the foot pedals closer. I like to drive with my arms a bit more extended. Maybe a "U" shaped cut out in the foot pedal plate?
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the OpenWheeler setup and my buddy is impressed with it. He now loves playing Gran Turismo. Previously, he said he wasn't into racing games, but he sure is now! Very happy with my investment.
