What an excellent little book! There is a sock pattern for everyone! I personally like the colorwork socks (mosaic and stranded), but they are all unique. I especially like the variety of patterns, though I do wish it was a hard cover, as the soft cover has less protection. I don't know why pattern design book writers don't do spiral bound books, then we can turn to the page we want and not have to worry about ruining the spine or cover! Regardless, I would knit most of the socks in here, and highly recommend to fellow sock knitting addicts!

Interesting two color socks. Lots of mosaics and interesting patterns. Not for lovers of self striping yarns. Some options to use leftover sock yarn creatively. A nice addition to a knitters sock library due to the focus on combining two colors.

However, some patterns have omissions, confusing directions, incomplete charts, etc. Think since it is not just one pattern that it is an editor issue. Definitely not for beginners.

Eagerly awaited this book and it does not disappoint! There are so many patterns and different techniques...not a book for a beginner ( and they make that clear in the introduction). The only reason I gave it a four was because 1) the pictures of each sock are at the end of the instructions...would be nicer at the beginning....and 2) not enough pictures for some of the. But Kudos on a great book...I now want my my own sock drawer...

Ich habe die englische Variante gekauft, weil so potentielle Übersetzungsfehler wegfallen (bzw. ich selbst für Missverständnisse verantwortlich bin) - das Buch ist aber auch mit wenigen Sprachkenntnissen gut zu lesen. Teilweise werden in den Charts (für mich) ungewohnte Symbole verwendet, aber daran gewöhne ich mich vermutlich auch noch. Ansonsten aufwändig gemacht mit vielen Bildern und Texten ...

I didn't realise how complicated these sock patterns would be... I knit a lot and I've knitted basic socks and thought I'd like a challenge, but these are just too challenging for me at the moment which is slightly annoying; I expected at least one or two easier patterns. I wouldn't want to start one and get fed up or put off. It's not the sock knitting bit, I can do that kind of ok, but there's lots of different techniques to do at the same time, like reading a complicated looking stitch chart and changing colours. If you're already good at these things and know basically how to knit a sock this book will suit you but if you're a bit weaker on either the sock knitting bit or the techniques then practice first and maybe have a go when you've brushed up your skills. I, like many knitters, do love a challenge and get loads of satisfaction from creating something beautiful and wonderful from a challenging pattern but this book is just beyond me at the moment sigh! I will return to it though! Oh and oddly, I'm just not keen on the colours of quite a few of the patterns but that's just a personal preference... choosing to knit in a different colour than the one in the pattern is no big deal at all.
