I really liked Kai in this book. I liked that she was loyal, trustworthy, determined and someone who wouldn't back down. I could feel the internal struggle she had during the book. One day a call comes in about a distant relative she never knew and she is expected to completely uproot her life. I loved that she seemed to know when to stand up to Hunter and also when to let him have his way. To me, this makes a woman very strong.
I liked Hunter, I liked that he was a loyal neighbor and friend. I also liked how he was carrying, protective and when Kai needed it, a gentleman. He seemed to be so in tune with her to know when she needed him to be more gentle and when he needed to be more aggressive.
The only part of Hunter that was a little frustrating to me what his lack of using his shifter abilities. For a shifter book, he was human for most of the book.
This is an honest and voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
This is the story of a hybrid-shifter (was bitten and turned into a wolf), a playboy, a happy bachelor, and a ranch owner too. The h is a city girl through and through, fiercely independent, has been living in her own for quite awhile and has now inherit a ranch in Texas.
When he meets the h his wolf takes notice of this curvy female. What happens next?
