The first female special ops team is formed and they are trained and ready. Something goes wrong and many innocent women and children are murdered and the Zulu team is blamed. The team breaks up and are scattered over the world with new identifications. Now five years later someone wants them destroyed. Their new identification and locations are no longer able to keep them safe.
Ronie Kendig introduces each Zulu special ops and from page one to the end of this first part of Zulu you will get to know them well. Though they have a bond through Zulu they live different lives with a guarded look around them at all times.
I have not named these remarkable women because reading about them will bring them alive to you along with the Special Forces men who trained them. Ronie Kendig once again has opened up with drama, intrigue, military, love and finding God in the midst of a dangerous turmoil of life that we can only taste through her magical words.
What I liked: I liked the characters. Each member of the Zulu team has been set up so that we love them and want to protect them. We have a great view of the danger that is coming from them and their potential threats. This was a very dramatic and action-packed intro.
What I didn’t like: Even with the character list explaining who everyone is I stayed fairly confused with the players and their roles. There were times that I felt completely lost – not enough to stop reading though.

In this 'episode,' we get to meet some of the team, and sadly, some aren't long for this world. Five years ago, something went wrong in Misrata, leading to a tragedy involving innocent women and children. The team members went into hiding and tried to leave that mission behind them. Unfortunately, someone has tracked them down and is determined to take them all out. The remaining members are being rounded up, hopefully ahead of the assassin to try and figure out what's happening now and what went wrong then.
This particular part of the story is 73 pages, and you don't even meet all the members of the team. The rest of them range average about 185 pages with the long one being Part 1 at 238 pages. I recommend picking them all up and reading them OR you'll have the chance to pick up the entire story together starting December 1, 2014. You don't really risk anything by trying this out, Overkill - The Beginning is FREE and doesn't take long to read.
I plan on reading these for the next few weeks, it's a great start to a great story by a wonderful author. I got caught up in the action and can't wait to start reading the next one!
