I am English and I've been eating pickled walnuts for over half a century. In my opinion these are the best I've eaten from a jar. They are slightly sweet, which allows you to fully savor the complex flavor of the walnut; too sour and all you can taste is the vinegar. This particular brand is ideal for Stilton cheese on biscuits and various meat-and-cheese sandwiches. I also make my own pickled walnuts and use various recipes ranging from vinegar only to port and spice flavored. Each has a distinct purpose and compliments specific types of food. However for general consumption I still prefer Opies over all other brands.

I was researching walnuts on Wikipedia one day when I discovered that pickled walnuts existed.

Amazed by this revelation I had to find some to try, and ordered these.

They arrived quickly and packaged well. I opened the jar and had my first taste of pickled walnuts, not having any idea of what to expect. My wife and I both tried them and agreed that they taste like A1 sauce. I even managed to get about half a dozen people at my work to try them.

Not something I would eat on a regular basis, but definitely worth trying!

VERY GOOD!!!!! Wish I was able to purchase Pickled Walnuts in the grocery store. It is a food item that you either like or don't like --- no middle road. Our family loves them.

A Kid's Review on August 26, 2009
I ordered delivery from England but this was shipped from Florida USA.
It may be formulated for USA consumption as it is excessively sweet.
Otherwise OK but shipping and handling charge from Florida seemed high.

Pricey, but worth it; almost impossible to find in the US. Goes exceptionally well with duck or goose, as the pickle offsets the oils of the meat.

A wonderful treat, but not something I would buy often as there are not many walnuts in each jar making them a bit expensive for a family.

Very tasty with various cheeses and meats. Kind of like sweet pickles crossed with Worcestershire sauce.

If you like pickled walnuts, you will like these. If you've never had pickled walnuts, try some.
