Opposites Ignite: Bangers Tavern Romance 2 Kindle Edition
About the Author
Praise for Christmas Rekindled, Bangers Tavern Romance 1
What do I like best about Sadira's books? EVERYTHING. Her stories are anything but cookie cutter, the characters are relatable, flawed, and genuine, and most of all...the writing is sublime. She excels at writing about a community of found family, those people who know us and accept us for who we are, just as we are. Ms. Stone's stories are steamy. Very steamy. You've been warned.
--Author Charlotte O'Shay
Christmas Rekindled is a holiday romance that brings the heat, the heart, and the funky vibes to capture the Millennial Christmas with 100% accuracy. It will pull your heartstrings, give you the giggles, raise your temperature, and reimagine your drink order with every chapter.

As the story opens, twenty-somethings Rosie, a server and Eddie, a bar-back, have overindulged bringing in the New Year and find themselves in Eddie’s bed after a night of x-rated shenanigans.
For Eddie it’s a dream come true. He’s lusted after the extroverted Rosie for months but his innately cautious nature prevented him from acting on his feelings because what would bodacious Rosie see in him?
Turns out Rosie was lusting just as hard over him but thinks serious, list making Eddie would never want a relationship with a disorganized woman who has rejected college to pursue her dream of becoming a tattoo artist. Rosie lives at home, works at the tavern and spends all of her free time searching for an apprenticeship to further her career goals.
Eddie has dreams too. His strait laced Russian immigrant family want him to take over the family dry cleaning business. But Eddie plans to open a restaurant/bar featuring food and drink honoring his heritage. He has yet to divulge his plans to his family and the knowledge of their disappointment weighs on him.
Sadira Stone’s immersive style totally captured the mindset of this opposites attract couple trying to navigate family life, friendship, relationships and careers. Rosie and Eddie have relatable conflicts and believable growth and yes, Eddie you are my brave hero with your epic grovel at the end. The story is sweet, angsty, funny and oh so steamy. Rosie and Eddie come to vivid life with Ms. Stone’s fresh, inventive narrative style. Highly recommend.

Proper, organized Eddie has long nursed feelings for tattooed, curvy Rosie. Their New Year’s fling is too good to be true for him, until his grandma brings breakfast and it’s obvious what’s been going on. Rosie was just making her getaway, but Eddie asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend to save face with his family.
The relationship is far from fake for Eddie and Rosie is everything he wants in a woman, but they both need their jobs, so they have to keep things quiet. Eddie also has to learn to be honest with his well-meaning but overbearing family about his dreams, while convincing Rosie of his sincerity and staying power in their relationship.
I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. I liked Rosie and Eddie as a couple and the cultural tidbits and anecdotes from both their families were interesting. I liked that Rosie and Eddie were both working toward goals that were important to them and not really understood by their families or others around them. Rosie and Eddie were sweet together, but the angst was unnecessarily high in places and some of the conflict felt a bit contrived and blown way out of proportion. Some of this read rather like a YA until we got to the steamy scenes and I would’ve liked more maturity from the MCs, especially Rosie, who created problems where there were none and, despite acknowledging her own overreaction, still dramatically pushed Eddie away. There was a lack of communication here that made it seem like our MCs were still in high school, not adults in their mid-20s. The assumptions each made about the other’s “type” and their own insecurities opened up great opportunities for communication and examination of feelings of inadequacy that everyone faces at some point, but this was simply glossed over. Some of the scenes felt a bit disjointed and just thrown in the add content but without really contributing to the story and were never revisited by the characters. I did really enjoy the grand romantic gestures made by both MCs in the end, even if Rosie took a bit long to come around. Overall, this was a sweet story with likable characters; it wasn’t quite my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it and found the issues they faced to be relatable.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From outside appearances, it doesn't seem that tavern co-workers Rosie and Eddie fit; in fact, they seem like total opposites. But as we all know, the heart sees things entirely different. I loved how Ms. Stone flipped the traditional romance trope on its head, taking her well-rounded (pun intended) characters from a passionate one nighter to red-faced friends, then back to lovers again through a fake relationship that creates opportunities to build trust and true intimacy. I was cheering for a happily ever after ending for this couple from the very first chapter, but am relieved it didn't arrive in a predictably straight line - in fact, I had to stop reading at one point due to my tears blurring the words on the page. SADIRA STONE IS THAT GOOD.
So happy that I discovered Ms. Stone and will immediately begin populating my Kindle with more of her books. Like Rosie and Eddie, her clever stories and funny, sexy writing style are the perfect fit for this reader!
