Pro BCAA Drink Mix
Anabolic & Anti-Catabolic Support
The Branched Chain Amino Acids Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine are valued for their anabolic and anti-catabolic properties. Used in the 2:1:1 ratio before and/or during endurance exercise they may help spare muscle tissue. Used after strength training, BCAAs help kick-start protein synthesis which plays an important role in muscle growth. We included 5 grams of L-Glutamine because this conditionally essential amino acid may help support recovery after intense exercise.
- 8 grams of BCAAs per Serving
- 5 grams of L-Glutamine per Serving
- 230 mg of Vitamin C per Serving
- 5 calories per Serving
- Available flavored & unflavored for stacking
If you run or cycle first thing in the morning before breakfast, your body might use amino acids from muscle tissue to fuel the effort. An ample dose of BCAAs may help spare muscle tissue by supplying the fuel your body needs to run, bike or swim.
Muscle Building Support
When the Branched Chain Amino Acids Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine are consumed after weight training they support a process known as protein synthesis which plays an important role in building muscles bigger and stronger.
Optimal Usage Occasions
Before and/or during endurance exercise and within 30 to 45 minutes after weight training. Also mix flavored versions in cold water & ‘stack’ the unflavored powder with your protein shake.

This is a good product, but I feel as thought it is over-priced. It is a BCAA supplement, which means you are getting amino acids that serve as the building blocks of proteins. This has the same BCAA profile as other Optimum products, which is the primary rub for me. It has a 2-1-1 ratio of leucine-isoleucine-valine, but 8 grams per serving. Optimum's Instantized BCAA has the same ratio, but only 5 grams per serving. If you upped the serving size to 8 grams, the Instatized would still be cheaper by roughly half, using prices available at the time I am writing this. Therefore, based on the BCAAs alone, this is not a value.
This product does have glutamine in it, which might be important to some people. Glutamine is involved in protein synthasis and muscle growth as well, and it is often said that glutamine reduces muscle soreness.
My first recommendation to anyone reading this would be to stop and ask yourself if you really need this. If you are taking this, odds are you are taking a protein supplement as well. If not, buy protein instead. If you are taking protein, look at the amino profile of your protein. If you are taking a decent amount post-workout, then this really should not be necessary for the vast majority of you out there.
Second, if you must take a BCAA, I'd say look for a better value and either save the extra money or put it toward something else in your training. I've taken several kinds of BCAA supplements, and there are some great ones out there.Read more ›
The ingredient breakdown however is very comparable to other amino products out there. Moden BCAAs seem to have the best ingredient breakdown. As that brand had alot more leucine, which is supposed to be the best amino for growth. If you eat alot then I believe you have that covered anyway, so for this product was just right. The digestability was completely tolerable , price was good and it has comparable ingredients to most of the other brands out there. There are some as mentioned, with more leucine, which are worth trying if you can digest them, but otherwise this product delivers
That said, the flavor was amazing. It tastes like candy despite having only five calories. If you're into BCAAs and only hesitant about flavor before trying this, just order it. It seems like another great product by ON.
This Pro BCAA has the ratio of 2:1:1 of leucine, isoleucine and valine which are essential amino acids for muscle repair and growth. I take this BCAA toward the end of my workout to give me that extra bit of endurance for the final sets. I love the flavor of this entire series. I tried Mango Peach and Raspberry and I enjoy both. It dilutes in water easily and doesn't taste "thick" like some bcaas can taste. These are both strong in flavor, so if you leave some in your shaker and not wash it, you'll have that fruity smell linger for awhile. Another reason why I decided to go with the Pro BCAA vs their regular BCAA, is that this has glutamine, which aids in joint and tissue repair. I love optimum nutrition and will continue to be a loyal supporter.
TLDR; great flavor, great added energy and helps in muscle repair.
