After seeing Rita on VH1 live, I fell in love with her voice and style of music. I feel like this particular CD, however, devalues everything I love about her. It is completely overproduced and she sounds nothing like she does live. There is no distinction between her and any other artist on the radio today. Although some of the songs are catchy, I was disappointed with how the production of the CD muffles her voice and ultimate talent. She needs to put out a "live" CD so people can get the full experience of what I heard on VH1.

I started hearing about Rita Ora about 3 years ago - heard that she was being developed by Roc Nation and was working on her album which wasn't expected to be released in the US until 2013. However earlier this year a certain Roc Nation client began to "act out" and all of a sudden, the PR for Rita Ora went into overdrive - she was being featured on blogs daily, being squired to radio station by none other than Jay Z while also getting a thumbs up from the Queen Bee herself which rubbed a whole "navy of fans" wrong.

The perception was (and still is by some) that Rita was being groomed to take Rihanna's spot and given how messy Rita's introduction to the US audience has been, I'm not sure that she can recover enough to make any kind of impact on the audience here which is a shame because she can sing and seems to have a bubbly personality that would otherwise pique people's attention enough to give her music a chance. I also hope that she can get new a&r and/or management because I don't believe that those involved with building brand Rih will actively help build brand Rita.

I think this album was pretty much thrown together in an effort to just get it out there and see whether it and she would "stick" with the audience. I heard some of the tracks that were released overseas but none seemed to gain traction here so I bought the cd from a UK seller for fear that it wouldn't be released at all. As debut albums go, it's very "ok-ish" - it showcases her voice and some of the songs are catchy but I don't have any idea of what type of artist she intends to be nor is there a real standout song that new listeners can pinpoint as a "Rita Ora track".

The songs I really like are: ROC THE LIFE; R.I.P.; HOW WE DO (a little too long but I still like it); LOVE & WAR f/ J.

I bought this LP after hearing "R.I.P" and "How We Do (Party)," and i was extremely impressed by Ms. Ora's potential, both in songwriting and vocalization. Sheturns up thye synths and drums for dancefloor anthems like "Roc the Life" and "Radioactive," and slows down for song like "Uneasy" and "Been Lying." "Hot Right Now" was a letdown (it was cliche and hardly electronica), but for dance and hip-hop lovers alike, this album will change your life!

I bought the CD primarily because of the song "How We Do," thinking that the rest of the CD would be the same upbeat, fun stuff. There are a few good songs on there, but most of them just don't seem to have the same feel-good beat. Kind of a disappointment. :(
