Developed for use in stencil applications, especially for painting and spraying techniques, e.g. vehicle lettering, stencil painting, promotional lettering and exhibition decoration. Due to its relatively high stiffness, this stencil film is especially suitable for spraying and painting onto smooth surfaces. The translucency of the films guarantees the visibility of the surface underneath.

The roll itself looked great. No bubbles, in great shape. Once it's rolled out and used, however, it is a nightmare to work with.
Any movement other than keeping the vinyl perfectly flat will result in bubbles. I had a standard grip Cricut mat that works just fine with my Cricut vinyls, even their stencil vinyl. The backing on the Oracal stencil vinyl is very dry and paper-like, vs. the waxy backing on the Cricut stencil. The result? A giant mess on my cutting mat that just about ruined it. I might as well have stuck notebook paper on it.
Weeding was awful too. The vinyl is very brittle so it cracks and stretches under very little pressure. It barely has adhesive on it. I missed a little section while weeding and tried to stick it back onto the backing, with a tweezer, and it would not adhere to the backing.
You'll see in the pictures how awful the finished product was.
I will gladly pay more for a product that doesn't belong in the trash. So disappointed.
The first project I used it for was painting a design on a wooden crate; it turned out terrible as the backing didn't stick well to wood. My next project, I spray painted a design on glass; the film was worked decently on that project, although there was a few corners and curves that the stencil didn't stick well and it allowed the spray paint to seep under the film. My next and final project was using etching cream on a glass drinking cup; the results were terrible. The stencil barely stuck well enough to paint on the etching cream; none of the edges would lay flat and the etching cream seeped under the film and ultimately I was left with a giant etched blob instead of the design I wanted. I tossed the remaining roll away. Not only did I waste money on the actual Oracal Film, but I also wasted a drinking glass and a wooden crate.
