Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. It’s over. The Cedric books are over (for now). What should I read now? *goes back rereading*
You see, I loved these books and The Oracle was the third one I have read. I honestly strongly recommend reading Cedric and Romasanta before reading this one, because these books don’t go alone. You will miss out on a lot of information and might not fully understand everything that happens.
However, I was so excited to start this book and see if Romasanta will be able to free himself and Daphne from the curse that separated them for centuries. As usual this story artfully combines tales and myths with a new twist and point of view on everything in the world. I was completely sucked in the story and didn’t want it to end at all. That being said I loved that we got more of Lillith, since I found myself drawn to her more and more. And what a surprise she was. I won’t spoiler you, just know that you wouldn’t have expected THAT!
All in all I liked the story. We got to now the characters and their feelings better, learned how they struggled with everything that happened in the previous books and how they beat themselves up for things that had never been their fault. But, I would have liked the end to go different. I think the author knows exactly what she did with this end and I hope we’ll see more of these characters in another book, because I, personally, don’t want to leave them just yet.
