I wasn't a big fan of the 7 fated mates. The story really didn't need that many and I think took away w. Trying for that many. Which then meant no real quality time and in depth relationships. Then when she found them, she was either in a coma or few days later taken.
Then when the story was at the end, she was reunited and the end.
So to bring a story with that many guys w. No real connection besides who she grew up with fell flat for me and ruined the romantic side of the story.
I enjoyed the first book when u didn't have that and only had the 3 mates. At least then you could enjoy the relationships blossoming. The story should have just stick with 3 to make it doable with believability and to feel invested in their story/love
Once the author added more mates, even those connections lost the appeal as now the story had to give a scene for everyone with a cpl days time.
This series got worse as it went unfortunately for me.
I started reading and was thinking, "great! I just picked a book just like the last one I read! Sad little weak girl being picked on"! It was not. The further I read I realized Kira already had one man who was interested and I need to read on. Then you get to the shower scene with Seth! OMG! It made me laugh and automatically wish the 2 would be her mates. I had no idea what I was getting into! The further you read, you realize this young lady has a huge story to tell.
Throughout the 3 books you are not over ran by the sex scenes. You are not skipping full paragraphs to "just get on with the story". Each mate has a part in the book. The descriptions of each view is not over done. Some internal monolog is over done but does not take away from the point in the story. Each mate has a different personality and it does not get old. Even the way they interact during love making is different. A little too much anal for me...but that's just me and I'm not a shifter.
Going from the weak chick in the previous books, I read, to this amazing strong lady....I was so happy when her mates needed her and not the other way around! Don't get me wrong. She needed each mate for her personal growth and to figure out her worth in this world. But she was always strong and they helped her see that. Jameson....hold on tight! It's a revelation! 7 mates. 1 shifter with a 'ride or die' attached!
I love these books and would recommend to anyone who is not Squamish and can keep an open mind on how to juggle old vs new relationships. I personally believe Kira handled it perfectly!
Don't worry, although descriptions are vivid it does not take away from the evil they have to fight. If anything, the end could have been longer. Seemed a bit rushed. But we knew it was coming.
Have fun!
There was SO MUCH s3x (which is understandable because she had SEVEN mates) but it really seemed like that became the focus of the story instead of the plot.
I honestly think the author did herself a disservice by the amount of mates she wrote in. None of the new ones really stood out except Tian for his endless calm and support and Wes because she had a vision of his death. I didn't feel that they brought anything new to the group that wasn't already there AND Milo got kind of pushed to the background when they were introduced. And THAT is just awful because he was ALWAYS on Kira's side even when she was still back at the pack.
It seemed like the author was so set on how her HEA would come about that she skimped on the battles and growing the relationships. I just felt kind of robbed by this book.
I was a bit frustrated that she didn't trust her mates enough to tell them she was going to get pulled away until right before it happened. But having read all the way to the end it made so much sense that it happened the way it did. I was left wondering those what happened to Kira's wolf after she went back. I mean, it seemed Kira was not that worried about her wolf. I would have loved to hear how that went. Anyhow, overall I really enjoyed this series.
R.L. Caulder and to your team, thank you for this book/series!

We got so much in this, and I was sad to see it end. I was hoping for a bonus epilogue but sadly didn’t get one. I love the characters I just wish we saw more of them working together and finding their places in their little pack better. See them working out their issues as they work as a team to defeat the bad guy. There’s still so much that could have been done with this and felt more fulfilling but I still enjoyed what we got. It’s a great short story for anyone just wanting a quick read with wolfies and a strong female lead that we envy with her harem of hot alphas.
Also wished there was a bit more world building when it came to Kira being where it ended. It just all seemed vague and I would have like a bit more detail. The story itself was great and I loved the adventure of it. Definitely what I was in the mood for and I enjoyed it.
