“[A] thrilling addition to Clive Cussler’s bestselling series. . . Burcell gets stronger each time out, which means so does Sam and Remi Fargo, who are arguably Cussler’s best heroes going right now.”—The Real Book Spy

This is a real page-turner, for sure. The mystery surrounding the curse coupled with multiple adventures for Sam and Remi Fargo take the reader on a real gallop in Nigeria...Wow, is an under statement!
The words 'Saturn holds the wheels' was the beginning of the words in the curse. Will the curse finally be broken?
The characters are well-defined and the addition of Nasha and Amal both contributed to the plot.. Lots of action within these pages coupled with twists and turns make this an exciting novel.
In addition, I loved the African proverbs at the beginning of each chapter.. One of my favorites was 'Patience can cook a stone.' The school for the girls also presented the reader with a backdrop for more intense excitement and mayhem.
One thing that made me laugh was Lazlo's statement about voting....He said 'Always two to one. Why do we bother to vote?'
Add the crisp clear dialogue and it makes this a 5 star read for me. Loved the characters, the plot and the interaction between the Sam and Remi Fargo and the rest of their team.
Most highly recommended.
The great challenge in any series, especially one written in collaboration with other authors is to keep the story fresh, while not deviating too far afield from the franchise. The question is, did Cussler and his team manage to accomplish this difficult task?
For me, they succeeded. I enjoyed traveling back and forth in time. Especially intrigued by the history gleaned regarding the country in which I resided for over 15 years of my adult life.
BLUSH FACTOR: Suitable for all ages.
WRITING & EDITING: The mechanics of the writing and editing are thoroughly professional.
Especially appreciate that there is no cliff hanger.
Four stars out of five.
80% of the book was a decent social justice story. However, if you want to develop a social justice series, do that rather than wasting the content and very lightly touching on the historical and archeological aspects that originally made the Fargo series. I sincerely hope the next book gets back to what made this series great. If you are a fan of (the original) Sam and Remi Fargo, you will be disappointed in this book.
Sam and Remi are as dedicated to aiding their friends as they are to their unquenchable desire to seek out and find the treasures of long ago. The exploits of Sam and Remi generally lead to danger and pandemonium that only they can use to their advantage. Or is it the ancient legend that forges havoc and maybe even vengeance?
A street urchin turned champion in itself is a great story, add the mystery and beauty that Amal evokes, and it can only lead to a story of adventure, bravery, and great heart
I never write bad reviews- I usually write a good one or none at all- but I waited so long for this next installment and was so disappointed that I just had to.

I really hope this is a one off as Mr Cussler is my go to favourite author. Fingers crossed for the next book - The Titanic Secret which sounds intriguing and hopefully a much better read.
So,what ‘s in the rest of the book....attempted kidnappings ,avoiding the bad guys and building a school? basically, nothing to do with the plot of the story. Also, you don’t get much idea where it is supposed to be set,it’s supposed to be north Africa,so why are the descriptions of the people in the story lacking. If it’s africa, why can’t they described accordingly, apart from names it could be anywhere in the world. It is not a crime to describe a persons ethnicity’,but you get the feeling they’ve been frightened ,in case of being criticised.
The book is ok,but not as good as we would expect,I don’t know if the person assisting in the writing this time, has made a difference, but this book has put me off the Fargo series somewhat
I love Clive Cusslers books, he's my favourite author. Please go back to the original exciting ideas .
This book is just awesome. Great Fargo Adventures set. Always great to read.
10-10 top quality Cusller books.
