Wow. As a loyal Sonic customer I am throughly thrilled with the Oral-B iO Series 7G Electric Toothbrush and will continue to use this as my main toothbrush (honestly I doubt I’ll go back to Sonic). I’ve read other reviews about the noise level and yes it is but barely. Here’s what I love about Oral-B iO Series 7G. Phone app to show you in real-time what section is well brushed and what needs more time. As a person who has difficulty with DLS (daily living skills) this is such a blessing. Look… just buy it and try it and if you don’t like it return it but I promise you’ll ask yourself why you waited so long.

I had a Philips Sonicare 6100 for 2 years. Dropped it and it broke. This toothbrush is by far superior. I did get this one at a sale price, but it took a month to show up. The Bluetooth feature connected to my phone makes it worth the price. I use it at least once a day sometimes twice. I use a regular toothbrush brush the other times I brush. All my life I have brushed my teeth 3 times a day. This brush is very sturdy compared to the Philips.

My 10 year old Oral B 5000 Professional died, so I had to replace it. Read all the reviews of the iO series and decided this was the best choice re price and features.

Set up was relatively easy, although I had to reset it to factory configurations until I figured out how to choose the language. No big deal, but somewhere in the very brief materials OralB provided, the company could have pointed out the that "selection" button was the power button.

Since I've used it only once, I can't comment on the cleaning ability, etc. What I can comment on is the NOISE.

Several reviews mentioned it was quiet. Well, if you consider a high-pitched whine that powers through one's skull, as opposed to the low-pitched revving motor sound of the 5000, I suppose so. I honestly don't know if I will ever get used to it.

Also, the magnetic base it sits on? Good grief. Touch it the wrong way and it will fall over. I've had to move it to the back of the sink so when it falls, it doesn't fall onto the floor.

I don't travel much, but I've marked it down because reviews have pointed out that the case can't be powered, so you'll need to travel with the charger. Not a big deal for me, but it may be for some.

The vibration that tells you when 30 seconds is up is so short, so mild, you'll miss it unless you are paying attention.

The icon on that handle to tell you what parts of the mouth have been covered is pretty much useless because, duh, you can't see it while you are brushing. My old Oral B had a separate device you could watch as you brushed which showed you both the time and the mode. It wasn't perfect (it was, for example, hard to read unless the light was just right) but it was functional.

And, as for the app, I honestly do not understand the point of having an app on your smartphone. Do people actually brush their teeth while looking at a smartphone on the sink? I assume it's useful for some people since OralB keeps "enhancing" the app in its newer models, but, well, luckily one does not need it.

This has a light that turns red when I’m being too rough. It’s perfect. I also like the app which allows me to track my brushing habits. If you are in the market for an electric toothbrush, for any reason, I highly recommend you stop searching and buy this one!

With the iO, my teeth feel really clean. It is designed to encourage you brush for at least 2 minutes. The brush is round and allows you to 'cover' and clean each surface of each tooth each time you brush each tooth. Good design and engineering. Precision manufacturing. And if you do it 'right', a SMILE appears in the window on the front! Can you imagine a toothbrush that affirms what a GOOD person you are, each and every time you use it for 2+ minutes? WOW! I know this sounds a little facetious ( it's the Smile!) but it cleans my teeth well, it's pricey but worth it, and when it needs replacing, I will buy another pricey one because it's worth every penny.

You have NEVER experienced a toothbrush like this before. Ive always thought the oral b spin brushes did a better job cleaning especially the gums but i liked the vibration of the sonicare brushes. This is both combined into 1. Spin brush but also the sonic vibrations mixed together. Caught it on sale for $120 black friday because i never wanted to spend $200-$300 on a toothbrush but honestly if i knew how good this was i would have and bought one earlier.

This is my first electric toothbrush. It's very straightforward and I love the app that you can use with it. I've definitely noticed a difference in the cleanliness of my mouth and sensitivity of my teeth, which has improved. The app's notifications are also great for someone like me who struggles to remember to floss. I only have one complaint with this toothbrush and it is easily remedied. When you're done brushing, water can collect in the area where the toothbrush head connects to the handle and it can get nasty. An easy fix is to take the brush head off as soon as you're done with your brushing routine. Put it on the little head stand that comes in the travel kit and wipe off the handle with a towel.

Hard to clean, grows moldy inside

I’ve been using this for over six months now. I don’t like it. The vibration is weird and seems ineffective, but most concerning is that the inside collects what looks like black sludge. When I rinse the brush it comes out in black drips, I try to keep it clean by taking the head off but it’s gross. It takes extensive rinsing taking the head off each time and I’ve even tried spraying a little alcohol on the inside to keep it from growing the sludge. Eventually I get most of it out but it’s a lot of work to fully wash the brush, brush head and mechanism each time.

The price of the premium Oral-B brushes has kept me using the Venerable Pro 3000 series brush for the last 10 years without ever giving too much thought of an upgrade.

I decided to pull the trigger on the IO 7 series and I am glad that I did. Immediately once powered on I could tell this model was going to perform MUCH better than any previous handle I had.

It is just that, a FAR superior brush to the old mechanical drive that adds a 3rd dimension of cleaning with its ability to pulsate the bristle head.

It is pricey, but it certainly lives up to the price.

10/10 Solid purchase.

i love the toothbrush. The head and handle are smooth so crud does not build up at connection point. The recharger is great for ease of keeping clean. Brushing works well on my teeth. Comfortable handle. Very disappointed with the Ap on my phone. It tells me some teeth are clean when I have only brushed the exterior. At times sections will show as partially clean before I have touched them. No grasp as to why some sections do not show as white(clean) when i have brushed them thoroughly.

Have not yet had the time to look at the Oral B website to see if something i missed but thought the ap would give better instructions if I am missing something
