I will start by saying I am not a skilled guitarist and I am not savvy when it comes to subtle differences between various guitars. I do know enough to know when I am holding a very cheap, low-quality instrument and I know what to look for. This particular guitar is by no means high-end, but it is very acceptable as a starter instrument and for practice and casual play.
First things first – I inspected it for warps, cracks, uneven veneer, and any other blemishes I could find, and the only thing I found was that the frets are slightly jagged on the ends, so you can feel them when you slide your hands down the neck of the instrument. It’s not enough to cut or anything that serious, but it is enough to notice, especially when you’re looking for problems. Otherwise, the instrument I received is nearly flawless – the grain is lined up straight, there is no sign of warping or bowing, there are no cracks in the wood, and the stock is attached nicely. Overall, this is a well-made instrument.
This is a very lightweight instrument and it is exceptionally easy to handle. I expected a little more heft to it, but the designers did a good job keeping it light. That’s a plus.
When playing, I listened closely for any buzzing or unwanted vibration that I have seen with lots of cheaper instruments, and this one showed none of that. The sound is bright and clear. It’s easy enough to tune it too. One thing I looked for was how well it remained in tune when playing, and it seems to keep its tuning well. Of course it needs adjustment on occasion, especially when traveling, but that’s to be expected.
It comes with a simple case that isn’t the best protection but it’s enough to keep the instrument free of dirt and free from ding and bump damage when traveling. It will do nothing for this instrument for serious drops or crushes.
It comes with a supply kit with useful accessories – extra strings, a capo, picks, and a tuner. It also comes with an adhesive pick guard.
So, this is a very inexpensive guitar compared to many, but the price is misleading. This isn’t a top-drawer brand, but it’s better than the price suggests. This is a very nice instrument and is great for learning and for casual play. In the right hands, it would be acceptable for certain performance venues.
The guitar is mediocre. It's what you might find in a high school classroom. Adequate to learn on but you can find guitars in this price range that are much better made. You can see the difference in string height in the picture I posted. Yes, the black guitar is an alvarez that cost 2.5x as much, but it shows what strings should look like. It really affects the playability.
The accessories are good. Tuner works well, nice capo, and really nice, but small, gig bag. The gig bag is more appropriate for an electric. The Orangewood guitar is small and thinner than most acoustics. So it's unlikely you'll find many acoustics that will fit in the bag. It'll fit an electric just fine though. So... if you're eventually going to upgrade your guitar to another acoustic, the gig bag is less valuable as it probably won't fit your new one.
This is a nice package of stuff for a beginner. Personally I'd buy a better guitar and not worry about the accessories until you really need them. But if you think you need them, it's not a bad place to start.

I thought the guitar sounded lovely. I worked on learning some basic chords, and I'm enjoying strumming it extremely much. I will have to say---my son tuned the guitar, and he said it's a pretty basic guitar. It doesn't have the kind of sound a better player is looking for. He said it was fine "for a beginner", which is what I am. He didn't think it was a bad guitar, just not a superior one. But he said, and I agree, at this price for all you get, it's about as good a deal as you are going to get for a starter kit, with a guitar that's not a toy but a real instrument.
So, if you are looking for a good starter guitar, I think you'll be quite pleased!
I often see "inexpensive" guitars that are unplayable and so poorly constructed they would discourage any novice from pursuing the instrument. With action so high it would make your fingers bleed in minutes and sloppy frets that cannot possibly sound good.
This is an incredibly inexpensive and IDEAL entry level guitar. It comes with a very nice padded softcase, an extra set of strings, a tuner w/battery, a capo, a string winder, a polishing cloth and a strap. The guitar alone is well worth the cost but this has everything a player could want to "plug and play".
Heck this would make a great travel/camping guitar for anyone.
In my opinion this is a game changer for entry level guitars and I highly recommend it.
