After reading the mixed reviews of this product I was skeptical about the performance when I bought it. It was easy to install, nice solid brass misters and the perfect length for our patio. After the first use I emptied the drain valve only to turn it back on and see water shooting out the end. I thought it was because I didn't have it tight enough or loose enough. Then my brilliant wife asked if there was supposed to be a stopper inside to cease the water flow. Low and behold when I took the drain valve cover off earlier a little teeny round black rubber ball fell out. Once placed back inside it worked like a champ again. The drain valve no longer leaked.

Make sure when you empty the drain valve that you don't let the tiny rubber ball fall out, otherwise your misting system will be nothing more than a hose.

I installed this system, along with a 10 ft extension, about 2 weeks ago hoping to cool the front deck which seems to radiate heat during hot, sunny days. It has provided some cooling but not as much as I had hoped for. My first problem was that the drain valve didn't work - it just spouted water though it was suppossed to close when the system is under pressure. I ended up folding over the end of the tubing and then open it back up to drain the system when I turn it off. Without draining it the nozzles drip for hours. The other problem is the operating pressure. I've found I have to really fine tune the pressure at the hose bib which feeds the system - too much pressure and the deck is drenched in a matter of minutes, too little pressure and the nozzles don't mist, they just spray or drip. They say this system can be extende out to 50 ft but I wouldn't recommend that. With 20 ft I can see a marked difference in the pressure at the first nozzle and the last. There seems to be too much pressure loss through the 3/8" tubing to evenly supply the nozzles over a 20 ft length and at 50 ft it would be a torrent at one end and a drip at the far end. Overall, this system is acceptable for the price but I think I'll upgrade to something else next summer.

I got this set up for a party I had on a hot sunny day. A bunch of people saw this and told me it would not work well...that I needed to spend hundreds of dollars to get the one that works properly with nice fine mist to cool everyone down. Well this is one of those situations I proved them wrong. This mister system worked just fine. People were standing underneath it just to stay cool...which it did.
I only wish I got one that extended further out.
Overall, it did what I expected this thing to do. Good stuff.

I was skeptical about this product with a price so cheap but it was worked great! It's a definite necessity for these hot Texas days! It was easy to install and so far no problems (I've only had it for a month). I have already recommended this to my friends and will probably be buying the extension kit soon.

After researching a half dozen misting systems. I chose this one because of the price and the statement that it was easy to install. From package to completion it took 15 minutes. It really does drop the temperature and now family and friends hangout on my patio during the heat of the summer. It's Great!

What a difference this mister has made for our comfort level during 90 degree and 100 degree weather! We now use our patio whenever we want, and do not have to wait for cooler weather! It was easy to install, and to adjust the nozzles for the direction of spray. It does make the patio surface damp right under the line (no puddles, just wet-looking area), but no big deal; the cooling effect is fabulous.

Awesome system. Bought the expansion kit too. Mist is plentiful yet you can stick your eye next to the nozzle (I don't recommend it lol) and not be bothered by the pressure because it is so gentle. I had to test this because the system is around/near my lil guy, safety first right? All joking aside I hope this helps someone.

I ordered this kit just on its own to test everything out before investing more into the system. The product arrived in 2 days and had everything in the package (although it would've been nice to have a could additional nails, but those are cheap enough). The tubing was sturdy and durable. I installed it underneath the wood in our patio in Tempe, AZ (near Phoenix), and was pleased that it matched the paint. I turned it on, and everything worked correctly.

The instructions weren't the greatest, so you should know the rubber ring is a gasket to install between the black plastic splitter they include and the mister hose. This will prevent leakage. If you're getting any leaks, turn the water pressure down, or turn it off completely to check all the connections (tight, but not so tight as to break the plastic), and turn it back on slowly. It doesn't take much pressure to run this at 10 ft. I'm going to add an additional 20 ft to it, so I'll let you know how well the pressure holds up over distance.

I'm a little annoyed that the splitter doesn't have an on/off valves. I'll have to buy one of those separately and figure it out. Overall, it's not a bad product for the price. I'm impressed by the quality.
