There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Superior to only other current brand I know, which is shark. Shark is heavy and I am disappointed by its suction, even with new/clean filters. Shark's tank (I think problem with all bagless tanks) is also high where I can't get under the furnitures (didn't actually measure but probably furnitures need to be higher than 12").
Oreck is louder, but now I think the noise just accompanies the suction quality. Oreck also seems to be self pulling assisted, but that may be because the brush is still new. Shark is easy enough to push around. Oreck cleans the edge better.
At least in amazon, oreck is now price competitive.
For the past year, my lovely wife has stocked me with a Shark; Shark and I have had it out in numerous skirmishes during the emptying phase of our relationship.
Subsequent to our recent relocation, I decided to go with the Oreck XL. In the past, I noticed my Italian friend's mom sporting an XL; she always had an exceptionally clean house, therefore, I surmised the Oreck would provide me nothing short of this.
I just finished my first vacuum; how my keyboard seems to continue working amidst the myriad of shameful tears, I haven't the slightest. Order it from your phone (one click this m*ther), pick up some of the scent-tabby things along with a 6-pack of bags and enjoy your newly acquired dust-evisceration skills.
I had my last upright for ten years, and there just came a point when it had finally sucked up its last five pounds of human and/or cat hair. (I can't even blame it on my cats, because even though they are jerks, which I may have mentioned in other reviews, they can't help that they have hair that sheds)
Which reminds me, I also have an Oreck canister that I have vacuumed the cats with. One of them actually seems to like it, as long as I tackle him first so he doesn't bolt when I turn it on. The other one hates it, but has it coming to her when she's been chewing on my CPAP hose...
