It’s like Stumptown meets Death Wish!

Okay so I’ve always been a whole bean person and I think you really want your best coffee that’s the way it’s gotta be. The thing about these beans is that they are just so fresh. Its probably because they do the small batch roasting and work with small family owned farms but the quality is really exceptional. Now it kind of reminds me a bit of Stumptown how its a real artisanal type feel with each bag but then it reminded me of my couple week bender with death wish coffee co as well. I say that because the caffeine content is extremely high and you definitely feel that. I mean you really feel that. Don’t let the clean white packaging fool you. No, no, no do not! Because if you’ve had death wish then you know exactly what Im talking about. I really do think this is better though because it brings together all the artisanal gourmet magic of what a company like Stumptown does. I love this roast and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This is by far the best dark roast blend I have had. Finally a high caffeine roast that has a taste. I am a huge black coffee drinker. No cream, no sugar. I firmly believe that the roast should be flavorful enough. This coffee didn’t disappoint at all. However please notice that this is whole bean. You will need a grinder. This ensures that you have the freshest most flavorful cup every time. I highly recommend this coffee.

Why I love this coffee? Well for starters it taught me what good coffee is. It’s strong but quite delicious and not overpowering. It’s not acidic at all so I liken this to be a very healthy product. There isn’t a whole lot to like but I’ll just say since I’ve switched to Top Shelf, I’ve been having much better days. Here’s the thing, it’s worth the extra couple dollars to me. I believe in there being a level of artistanship and care with smaller roasts. When companies industrialize and focus on profits like Starbucks, the end result is usually the customer suffers. I love this stuff!

I usually stick to buying coffee from trader joes, but I decided to give this a try because it looked like high quality coffee. It definitely did not disappoint. This coffee has the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, as well as a super smooth flavor! It smells good and it tastes so light with yummy undertones! I wouldn't even bother wasting your money on Starbucks or any other coffee. This is the real deal! I will be recommending this to all my friends and family :)

10/10! I usually stay away from dark roast because I find them to be too bitter and not have a lot of flavor. This coffee is nothing like the other dark roasts I’ve tried. Top Shelf is full of flavor without the need to add sugar or cream. It’s not bitter like Starbucks dark roast (I avoid it at all costs!) and it’s not acidic like most coffees I drink. Another plus, it comes in whole bean so you grind the coffee yourself. There’s something so different about grinding the beans yourself rather than buying pre ground coffee or throwing a kcup in your keurig. Give it a try!
