About the author

Several years ago Marie began counseling clients who struggled with traumatic grief and loss as Licensed Professional Counselor in Mesa, Arizona. She has published two workbooks valuable for individual, family, and group interventions. They are also useful for individual emotional/mental recovery:
GRIEF AND LOSS WORKBOOK: Recognition, Response, and Recovery.
ANGER EXPERIENCES: Group Member Workbook
ANGER EXPERIENCES: Group Leader Workbook
...
Marie has also shared home and professional organization skills for more than 30 years. She began teaching in 1986 at the local community education center where she developed an eight-week, sixteen-topic course including personal organization, time management, food preparation, office and storage organization, budgeting, training children and employees to work, and purchasing skills.
Her classes and presentations have proven popular both in California, Utah, and Arizona. She teaches organization principles at professional, educational, and community venues. She also does personal consultations where she has seen a lot of unkempt offices, cluttered closets, and stacks of untidy paperwork, all of which is very exciting for her to organize.
Marie is has published several personal organization books:
BE ORGANIZED is a simply way to regain 90 minutes a day, every day, by employing simple-to-implement organizational techniques and skills.
HOUSE OF ORDER HANDBOOK contains chapters on many facets of organization plus numerous worksheets to make running a home or small business easier at all levels.
PROJECT ORGANIZATION, QUICK & EASY WAYS TO ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE and ORGANIZE AS YOU GO address personal, home, and family organization skills.
ORGANIZED FOR A MISSION, A GUIDE FOR PARENTS AND MISSIONARIES speaks to the needs of young L.D.S. missionaries and their parents.
BE SUCCESSFUL IN SCHOOL - A STUDENT'S GUIDE FOR JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL helps young people find answers to academic success.
Marie has also prepared additional printed materials to help home managers and professionals get more organized, whatever their needs may be. She has made good use of her personal library of over 300 personal, family, home, and business organization books as she shares valuable and workable ideas in her classes, presentations, and writing.
Marie has also written for various venues and appeared as a featured guest on both TV and radio. She has been a radio show host and is dedicated to helping men and women everywhere find greater organization skills, both in their personal and professional lives.
...
Marie also has interests in many other areas. She has published several historical biographies and also loves to scrap quilt and make pressed-flower greeting cards for friends and family.

I have to confess that I have had a difficult time getting through many "organizing" books because, well...I get bored. So the fact that I finished this book should attest to what a great read it is. Really, I was so excited with the short, simple steps/chapters for organizing different areas of my life.
My favorite part: I loved step 15--Taking control of endless emails. I currently have 63 new emails in my inbox and it bothers me that there are so many I haven't even opened. But I am implementing Marie's wonderful idea of categorizing my emails and creating an Answer Later file within my email box. There are many more ideas about this, but you'll have to read her book to see how totally awesome they are so you can break free from the endless chain of emails!
There are several more tips for parenting, holiday planning, traveling--pretty much everything you can think of, but the organization tips were my most favorite.
I liked Marie's ideas for organizing digital photos and am excited that now I'll be able to find specific pictures in a snap.
I also especially loved the idea of "Do the worst jobs first" to get them over and done with so you can enjoy the rest of the day.
