Original Apple Airport Card!

If you have a PowerMac G4, Ibook G3, Imac G3, Imac G4, PowerMac G3 Blue & White,or old Powerbook G4, this is the wireless card you need to get. Don't get a wireless usb stick. I have a PowerMac G4 and this card works great. I needed to call my internet provider to hook it up. With Airport express card, all you have to do is choose your wireless network and type in the password for that selected network. But do not underestimate this product. It is great! DO NOT BUY AIRPORT EXPRESS CARD IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE MACS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Installs easily, works perfectly

Installed in a 700mz iMac G4. My vision is no longer too great, but I had no problem installing. It works quite well, seems as fast as the Ethernet connection. The computer is 50 ft and 3 walls away from the router, and still works well. The only concern that this did not look new. The white was discolored yellow, with scuffs and scratches. Other wise I would rate it with 5 stars.

It did not come when forecasted, who knows? . On contact, it was sent right away. I have an original iMac. The card was delivered and I sensed a problem when there did not seem to be a working cradle. It does not register. I still appreciate the service.

I have this item because the same item is listed in 2 different places, and I get around the lack of security by dedicating a router to these older machines (I have 5 of them because they all work and are totally for me useful.) In fact I have an AirPort 802.11b UFO Base Station of M8209LL/A model that takes the very same card. I love how it makes the impossible possible.

obsolete but fully functional

This "original AirPort card with adapter" was received promptly and in good condition. The adapter is needed for some computer models including my 1999-era slot-loading iMac DV (400Mhz G3). Handle gently and use static protections while installing - best to check the computer's manual or the web for instructions before proceeding. Although my wi-fi site was quickly identified, all connection attempts failed reporting bad-password error. This was due to my router being set for WPA2-AES encryption which this card cannot do. Subsequent attempts using the older WEP encryption or no encryption both worked perfectly and immediately. With software updates, it is supposed to be possible to use this card with the more secure WPA-TKIP encryption-- no luck so far, still trying.

I purchased this product and sent it to a friends house and received it a fews weeks as I don't live in USA. The airport is not working in my MAC C4 Cube. Now I don't know what to do because as described it's no longer in the country

Works with (old) Mac PowerPC G4. A now 14 year old computer.

That's all I cared about. For that generation of Macintoshes, it enables wireless connectivity. Very handy, albeit, out of date.
