I just bought this item at Kmart for $29.00!!!!!! Great product, but I really don't understand the price difference for the same exact item (yes, same brand). I usually find great deals at Amazon and am a big fan, but, for this, go to Kmart : )

I specifically ordered the "Made in America" version of this toy, even tho it was so much more expensive, since it was for my grandson. A HUGE disappointment! As my son-in-law put the toy together (with great difficulty, even tho he is very good at these things) I realized how poorly made it was. And the top of the seat was totally asymetrical, as tho the plastic got melted along the way. Both my own kids had big wheels when they were about 4, and the toy was terrific. The only reason I'm not returning it is that disassembling, repacking and shipping will be more aggravation than it's worth.

I bought this for my son's 5th birthday and he was very excited to use it. Now 1 month later the steering handle is completely loose (it is only held in with screws) and can almost turn completely around the post. All withouth steering the Big Wheel. My son is pretty bummed that it doesn't work very well anymore.

I also found this for $35 at Target, and thank heavens because I would be pretty upset if I had paid the Amazon price to have it fall apart so soon. I am looking at trying the radio flyer version soon.

What a pleasure to discover that the 1970s Big Wheels are returned to limited production. My children enjoyed them immensely long past the advertised 'age range of interest.'
I ordered a Big Wheel for each of my grandchildren this Christmastide, and had the pleasure of watching their dad and uncle assembling them, and the dancing excitement of the grandchildren impatiently waiting to climb into the seats. They pedaled those Big Wheels the entire day, leaving behind toys that were battery powered and noise-emitting. They raced through the house and outdoors, and the plastic wheels made not a mark on the floors.
The price, adjusted for 30 years of inflation, is very reasonable and purchases happy involvement with other kids, good reciprocal muscle development and exercise, and time that is actively engaged rather than passively seated in front of a video or computer game.
I hope the Big Wheels return to full production and availability in local stores so that many other children of this generation can have the delight of owning and using one.

Great toy. Both of my sons I(Now 44 & 39) had these toys when children and loved them. I just found them and purchased them for 4-1/2 year old granddaughters. Since they are ajustable they can ride them in the short seat position and will be able to use them for several years. They have been a hit. Wish I could find tip & Rock chairs for them.

I had one of these when I was a kid and it was wonderful and was still in good shape when I outgrew it. Many years of playtime. I bought my grandson one last year, this one that says original and it's not anywhere near the toy I had. Don't waste your money. I think the ones we had were solid. These are hollow plastic. Big disappointment.
