(I got an AV-to-HDMI adapter the first time and there were visible lines and toned down colors on the screen, not to mention the sound was horrible. I thought it was a huge upgrade from simply AV, so i dealt with it.) I accidentally bought a new one (this exact product) because i forgot i had gotten the cheap one lol. So it all worked out, and i'm excited to play all the old greats, the difference is A+ !!

I had some time off from work and have a TV that only has HDMI, which makes playing all of my older game consoles a bit more challenging. I had planned on getting the Pound adapter since it didn't have a built in HDMI connector. I figured using the HDMI cable that is used for my other consoles would be easier to use than trying to get to the other HDMI ports on the back of the TV. Unfortunately, the Pound adapter wasn't available at the time, so I looked at this one with slight hesitation.

It arrived in time, and works as advertised. I have not tried using it without the power adapter, even though they do claim that it often is not necessary. I also did not use the HDMI cable that ships with it. I saw many reviews complain about its quality, and as mentioned above, I already have an HDMI cable plugged in for other consoles that was easier to use.

I haven't used this extensively, but it worked flawlessly for me when I used it, and the picture quality is great. I don't have the world's fanciest TV, and also have realistic expectations. The build quality does feel a bit cheap. There isn't much heft to the thing, and it feels like a hollow, cheap adapter, but I'm pretty easy on things, and don't imagine there will be any issues with it.
