I was a little scared at first because I thought it would be too aggressive for the project I was working on. I had tried glass etching cream on thin borosilicate glass mugs but it didn’t work. This etcher did the job perfectly and doesn’t etch too much away as you work. Plus, the mug never shattered despite all the etching I did!
It was slightly difficult to work with because it was a little uncomfortable holding the button down and trying to hold the pen the way I needed to at the same time. Also, sometimes the pen would move in a way I didn’t expect it to, but that’s mostly user error. Just practice and you’ll be fine!!
I etched the whole mug but I had to replace my drill bit half way through as all the grit on the tip suddenly disappeared. Sad there aren’t replacement tips for purchase.
Overall, really great tool just wish the tip lasted longer and the pen was more comfortable to grip.
