This is the best lower back support I can find. I would love to give it five stars for that, but sadly I must agree with the observations of many other reviews that this version is cheaply made. It is coming unstitched at the seams in the 1st week of use. Really really disappointing. Also there were some very ugly white tags that were super difficult to remove. I cut them because there was no perforation & they were stitched into the most vulnerable seam (wear the strap attaches). Also, the foam pillow comes in a light plastic sleeve which VERY easily gets caught in the zipper. Once this happens It's a lot of work to get the plastic unjammed from the zipper. So many things about the materials & design of this product smack of cut corners, lack of testing & utter disregard for ease of use. Very sad to see a great product ruined by shoddy craftsmanship. I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks extra for better materials that would last longer. I would love it if there were a better version of this. I would return it, except I'm sure the replacement would be just as flimsy so I'll do my best to stitch it up & keep looking for a better made product.

I purchased the regular firmness roll. Firstly, this product is not worth the +$20 that it is listed for. It is made of craft store foam inside a zipped cylinder with cheap, craft store elastic attached at each end. Anyone with basic sewing skill could make this for around $6, likely making it much better.

The firmness was perfect for 2-3 weeks and now it has started getting spongy and losing support, this means the foam has started to break down. The manufacturer clearly did not use a high performance foam if degradation has started in the first month.

The elastic strap is made of the generic elastic from any local craft store. The bands have already started showing loss of elasticity. The reason for this is the movement of sitting down allows for the support to roll down with your back winding up the sides of the elastic where they are stitched to the cover. After two days they were so twisted that the elastic started to separate. This is a poor design. For long term use the manufacturer could have used nylon straps with length adjusting buckles.

I do not recommend this product for long term or everyday use as it is not made to quality standards that can endure the regular abuse of everyday life. I'm sure it would last if you put it on your computer chair and used it when catching up on emails in the morning but I put it in my car and spend about two hours of driving everyday, sometimes longer. Most people post reviews a short time after the receive this product but I have used it and tested it for a month and I have already seen this product degrade in that short time.

A Cheap Piece Of Junk

This product is a piece of junk. As soon as I received it, I went to strap it around my chair, and the strapped ripped right off. An inspection showed how thin the thread was holding it to the thin liner. I made up my mind to use it anyway, and then the seam ripped on the other side (See photo). Save your money. Don’t buy this product. Roll up a towel, tape it with duct tape, and voila—a real, sturdy, and even washable lumbar roll.

This type of thing is great for my back and neck, which I LOVE. Lifesaver. Truly. I have had serious back and neck issues for years, and what this kind of support does to your upper back, shoulders, and neck is a serious lifesaver. Can't believe how helpful it is.
But it is sickening how expensive this is. It feels like gross airplane pillow--squishy, flimsy. The strap hardly works. The only way it works is if you're pulling it super tight, which is definetely going to wear it out over time, and that still does not work on the chairs I use (kitchen chairs, with two slippery wooden pillars the strap is trying to hug. I find myself getting frustrated if I have to move around in my chair or get up and down, because the roll moves out of place every time, even if the strap is working. The roll flops up and down. None of this would matter if this was 8 dollars. It'd still be expensive for what it is, but I'd give it 5 stars. Basically have no respect for a company charging 25 dollars for something a small child could put together as a craft project, and that people are buying FOR THEIR HEALTH. Often people who are desperate for help. Those who don't have this kind of money to throw away can't buy them. I realized there are 15 dollar versions with good reviews, I'm gonna try those. There are many that are at this same price, but to be fair, they seem like knockoffs and copies of this dumb, popular product. This company should find some integrity somewhere.

I am a slim woman, about 5' 4". Recently diagnosed with lumbar osteoporosis. I do not have pain but wanted something for lower back support. I was very excited to receive this roll. When I tried it, instead of filling the natural gap in my lumbar area, which is what it should do, it felt like I was sitting against a large brick. Way, way too fat, and I couldn't get it to soften at all. Then when I saw what was inside the case, I couldn't believe the price....a piece of foam rubber? OMG. What a piece of junk. Glad it works for others tho.

No matter what you do this thing does not stay put. It slips up, it slips down, it flings off to the side when you try to get into the car, and if you even try to move slightly while you're driving it pops up. Along with this, it's so squishy that it doesn't actually provide real lumbar support. Definitely not worth the money. I will go back to my physical therapists original idea and roll up a towel as it's just as effective if not more.

Love it! Others have said there isn't enough structure to this. Yes it does squish down. I guess depending on how much you weigh and what you're looking for. I was looking for support, but not hard/stiff support. I weigh about 135 pounds and am 5'1". For me, the fact that it squishes down a bit is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want hard ungiving support and this is it! I got the standard firmness and it's just perfect. I love how I can position it anywhere on my chair I want to support my back. I have a problem with my mid thoracic area and this works perfectly, so much so, I just bought another one! I highly recommend this product!

I use this product every day. I have it on my computer/desk chair as this is where I spend most of my time.
I have lower back issues and my physiotherapist recommended I try out a lumbar roll. However, I didn’t want to spend all that money on the one she was selling at her office. So, I decided to get one here on Amazon.
I must say that this product works great for a fraction of the price of the one I was going to get from a professional. It allows me to sit straight up and relieve lower back pressure.
My only complaint is that sometimes it falls down/slides. So, I decided to tie it up on the sides to prevent this. Haven’t had any issues since.
