Based in Brooklyn, New York, New York Times bestselling author Charles Soule is a writer of novels (graphic and otherwise), comics, screenplays and stories of all types. He plays the guitar fairly well and speaks at least one language.

Born in the Midwest, he spent his early years in Michigan before moving to Asia, where he spent time living in Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore. Stints on the East Coast followed, before settling in New York (apparently) for the long haul.

I bought the Kindle version of this comic. Very dumb, no color at all. But this story is great. It features the origin of Parker Robbins and how he acquired the cosmic Hood. Great story great animation and eyeballs everywhere! Read it if you haven't, it's connected to the what if universe.

A disappointment indeed! Stories do not deliver as the cover promises they will. Some of the tales have juvenile art that shames the Marvel brand. Having cut my artistic teeth on Neal Adams, Barry Smith, Jim Starlin to name a few, anything less of this quality is a letdown indeed. An example of that letdown would be the so-called New Avengers in this book. Story line is consistent, characters are goofy, artwork does not connect. So this is a disappointment after the original "Original Sin" for which this is one of many sequels. I would say pass but you might enjoy it so the choice is yours!

Don't bother. This is a collection of stories. The art is poorly drawn. The writing is only so so. The only story that might have been worth it was the story of Nick Fury and Dum Dum Dugan. The only positive I have for this book was I received it a week earlier than I expected.

A nice companion to Original Sin

When the Watcher is murdered the secrets he has seen come to light. While the action is in Original Sin (note the singular), this anthology book shows how various minor Marvel characters dealt with the revelations. There's a continuing story focused on the Young Avengers and short stories on a wide variety of characters from Doctor Doom to Howard the Duck. Two stories about Nick Fury stand out as helping to flesh out events in the main series.

The Young Avengers Story is a bit far fetched. It involves building a machine that can read and erase minds then upload information to the internet. And the machine is built in a basement, out of spare parts, in a half hour. Even the characters mention how absurd this is. But it's told with wit and humor and is overall enjoyable.

The book also gives some important background on 'the Man on the Wall' a previously unknown character who protected Earth from alien threats.

There's also some humor strips with a very funny one here Nick Fury gets some out-of-continuity confessions from Marvel characters.

A lot of how much you'll enjoy this will depend on whether you enjoyed Original Sin, if so it's an invaluable and entertaining companion. If not, it's a fun but forgettable read.
