Switch Witch is the new Halloween tradition that is teaching kids around the country the benefits of giving back! Each Halloween night, millions of parents face off against their children in an effort to stop them from eating all their Halloween candy in one night. Switch Witch looks to change that by offering families a fun and beneficial way to part with Halloween candy! Your Switch Witch will stay with your family as a guest for the days and nights before Halloween, waiting to come out from her cauldron as she tells her story. On Halloween night at bedtime, children and families will leave a portion of their trick-or-treat sweets with their Switch Witch pal and in the morning they will find that their candy has been switched with a special Switch Witch gift!
Every year, on the first day of October, many many young Switch Witches say goodbye to their parents as they hop in their flying cauldrons to go visit kids (like you!) for a long sleepover play date! During the weeks leading up to Halloween, your family will host to your own Switch Witch. In exchange for a nice visit, your Switch Witch will turn some of your Halloween candy into a fun gift! Maybe your gift will be a new book, a toy, sporting gear, a new backpack, or even a gift certificate for a special outing with a grownup you love. Switch Witches are very clever and imaginative – yours will know just what you would love for a gift! Once their gift is left and their candy collected, your Switch Witch will fly off in her cauldron – back home to their own families – until next Halloween when they will return to visit again!
We want you to give back! And your Switch Witch will help us! We all know that aside from finding the perfect costume to unveil to your friends and family, the main event of Halloween are the LOADS of candy that each child gets to bring home to eat for weeks to come (and if you're like us most of us it last until the next Halloween!). Switch Witch doesn't want to take all of your family's candy! Just enough to share it with those who may need to be reminded of the fun of Halloween or those who are looking to make kid's lives a whole lot healthier. By partnering up with Operation Gratitude and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Switch Witch will provide some sweet treats and smiles for our troops and help educate our youth about the benefits of a healthy diet...even if there are a few pieces of candy involved!
Each Switch Witch box contains: • Original Switch Witch and Cauldron • Switch Witch story book by Lara Spear Riley Each Switch Witch is made from 100% Polyester Fibers.
Think of it this way: your Switch Witch is visiting just like a friend would come over for a sleepover or a play date. When you have a friend over, of course you are sure to be kind and polite so that your friend will want to stay – and come back again and again! It’s the same with your Switch Witch! When you are respectful and nice, your Switch Witch will have a great time and will want to stay until Halloween – and also come back next year!
Aside from enjoying a bit for herself, Switch Witch works with the great people at Operation Gratitude and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to provide some sweet treats for our troops as well as help with educating our youth about living a healthy life by starting with a healthy diet!
Halloween is a one of the most fun holidays of the year for children of all ages, but the stockpile of candy seems to grow each and every year! On average, consumers spend $2.2 billion on Halloween candy a year and unfortunately most of that candy goes into the mouths of children…and sometimes guilty parents! Rob Bouley and sister-in-law Lara Spear Riley wanted to change the amount of candy going into their children’s mouths while creating a holiday tradition that their families could enjoy. “We were becoming increasingly dismayed by the amount of candy collected by our children each Halloween night and wanted to find a way to give this candy to those who may need it more than our children” Rob and Lara explained. After a brainstorming with their families (and getting some great input from their kids!) Rob and Lara developed the basic story and concept of Switch Witch and the rest was history! Since then, Rob and Lara have been working side-by-side to bring this endearing, magical Halloween tradition to parents and children across the country, with proceeds and candy going to help the troops through Operation Gratitude as well as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation!

Trick, Treat, GIVE!
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
As parents, we understood how much candy is involved with Halloween. Each year the trick-or-treat bags seemed to be bigger and bigger but the results remained the same - the candy was gone within a few days! We wanted to come up with a fun way to bring our families close together while limiting our children's candy intake, trips to the dentist, threats of childhood obesity, and struggles with food allergies. With the help from some Halloween consultants (our children) we came up with The Original Switch Witch as a way to control the amount of candy that goes into our bellies and give back to our troops and those in need at the same time. From that point on, Switch Witch was born!
What makes your product special?
Much like the festive elf that visits so many families across the country during the weeks before Christmas, we wanted to find a way to create a new Halloween tradition that could make children healthier and give back! Almost all of the new holiday traditions that center around fun characters do a great job at bringing families together, and we wanted to continue that tradition to Halloween while also going a step above and finding a way to give back! That is why we decided to team up with the great people of Operation Gratitude as well as The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to spread the magic of Switch Witch and Halloween!
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
The best part of this Switch Witch experience has been the opportunity to create a product with our families that tells a story and starts a tradition that will hopefully carry on for years to come. It has truly been a magical experience! Switch Witch has allowed us to share our story with the amazing minds on ABC's "Shark Tank" and show the world that Halloween doesn't have to just be about dressing up in fun costumes and collecting candy. Halloween can be about bringing families closer together and supporting those who may be in need or who are protecting our country!
