It was slightly cheaper than what IBM wanted. It arrived on time and was exactly the correct part. I installed it incorrectly the first time by catching a wire on top of the fan. As part of start up, the machine spins the fan for a brief period of time. If it won't spin, it displays Fan Error and shuts down. After discovering and fixing my error, it worked perfectly. I am a computer repair technician and have begun using it on customer's laptops instead of the crap Dell and Apple. Let me tell you these customers always come back with smiles saying how much cooler their systems run with this stuff. Arctic Silver is still in my toolkit for certain situations, but this paste makes for an absolute wonder when it is used on mobile computers. I replaced my parsonal gaming machine's paste with this stuff because I saw horror stories related to IC Diamond and sure enough it had worn the top of my cpu die a bit and that is unacceptable. I replaced it with Arctic MX-4 and have had fantastic results. One thing which is VERY important to note about this paste is that it is THIN. Arctic Silver 5 is tacky and rather thick which is well suited to heat sinks which have a lot of pressure from the screws holding it on. Arctic MX-4 can still be used in these situations, but with MX-4 LESS IS ABSOLUTELY MORE!!! practice a few times when applying it because you may need to adjust your application methods for this paste depending upon what you are used to using. I would absolutely without a doubt recommend this paste to everyone building a high performance desktop machine or anyone trying to significantly lower the heat output of say an Alienware laptop or retina display macbook pro as is extremely adept at this task. Do be aware that Apple is picky as hell about every little thing inside of your machine so be sure if you have this applied it is done by a professional! There is always the case that Apple can deny you warranty coverage because you have "tampered' with your device. If you are out of warranty however give it a go!
