"This is a strong plot line with lots of room for development, excitement, action and suspense. I am seriously looking forward to reading Book 1 of the Soul Eaters series to see how Ms. McCalla develops the story, the characters and how she will more deeply incorporate the African pantheon of deities that are intertwined in the plot and the final outcome of this story."--Notebook Blogairy

"...This series promises to be a mix of Norse and African mythology set in modern America. ...Hopefully with a bit more work, Ms McCalla can be right up there with Ilona Andrews and Faith Hunter." --GoodReads Review

From the Author
Origins of an African Elemental mixes West Africanmythology and Norse mythology featuring vampire-like beasts. This African Elementals boxed set was painful to write but I felt it was necessary to showcontroversial issues that impact African American women mixed with supernaturalthriller elements to truly create a Black woman's horror story.
Friends and family members tell me that I have a"dark gene" when it comes to telling stories but I want readers tobecome up close and personal with the atrocities committed toward women. Somereaders may find the serial killer's violence against female victims to bedisturbing and well they should. My goal is to spur understanding and encourageaction against these abuses. If you are a reader who enjoys sword and sorcerystories, then you will want to read this series highlighting strong Black womenwarriors.
