I just love this heartwarming, funny and adorable book. Once again, Karen Kaufman Orloff is clever, witty and loving all in one book. This time she is joined by illustrator Tim Bowers who conveys the close relationship between a child and his dog. The expressions on their faces speak volumes. So many kids have begged their dogs to talk. Talk Oscar, Please! imagines how great it would be if it happened. It concludes (spoiler alert) with the boy's declaration that even without speech, he knows what Oscar is saying.

I have given this book as a gift to several children whose giggles and hugs reveal how much they love it. I also gave it to our vet with a note about appreciating her ability to take great care of our dog even though he can't talk. She said she will cherish it always.

Talk Oscar, Please! reminds me of Dr. Seuss for its rhyme and playfulness. Karen Kaufman Orloff thinks up the silly things a dog could do and illustrator Tim Bowers whips up just what you can imagine. The wishing and illustrations are so convincing I expected to hear Oscar break out in prose at any moment. A delightful tale that any child (or adult) whose ever had a pet for a best friend can relate to. A silly, fun and deeply yearning read. - Biblio Reads Children's Book Review

Got this one for my 2 yr. old niece. She loves it. Asks to read it at least every other night. The best way to read it to your child is to use the name of your dog, instead of "Oscar". My niece is constantly is always asking her dog to "Talk, Sadie, Please" !!!

This is such a super book. My daughter loves to shout, "Please!" every time it's written. I even recommended this book on the Facebook page for my book: [...]. When I find a book that is clever and fun, I want others to know about it. Great job!
