Selecting an Oscilloscope Probe on Amazon.com
An oscilloscope probe or clip is used to connect an oscilloscope to a device under test when measuring its electrical signal. The signal travels through the probe over coaxial cable to the oscilloscope, which displays the signal in a waveform. Important considerations when choosing an oscilloscope voltage probe include the input capacitance, input resistance, attenuation, bandwidth, and maximum input voltage. A high-voltage oscilloscope probe incorporates a resistor (or a series of resistors) to safely and accurately measure high voltages. An oscilloscope current probe measures current over a broad frequency range by generating a voltage proportional to the current in the circuit. Oscilloscope probe manufacturers include Tektronix.
