If you have a smartphone with GPS or a tablet with GPS, this is a must have app. You do not need to have an Internet connection to use this, it works perfectly off-line and it is fast and easy to use.
A word about off-line GPS apps. All search in a slightly different way: you set a filter for the country, city, street and then cross street which is easy to do. You can also pick a building or landmark as the cross. They choose show on map and refine exactly where you want to go.
The turn by turn directions are great and as good as anything else. Like any route mapping system, once in a while you might make an extra turn but there isn't a system made that doesn't do that once in a while.
I've used this on tablets and smartphones, it works great on all of them.
To save data if you don't have an unlimited plan, simply turn your data off and this app will work off-line. It does also work well using WiFi or your data access if you want to go that route but I found that using this saves a lot of money and is hassle free.
To get started, remember to download the Global base maps and then the maps for the country or state you need. The free version limits the number of downloads but unless you need more than that, the free version works just great. The paid for version isn't that expensive and you can get some additional advanced features.
What I like is using this app on a tablet with the tablet's camera point at the road. Then whenever you want to you link a picture or video to a location for your records. It is simple to do.
Adding favorites is super easy. Touch the location on the map and then choose add to my places from the menu. It is super easy and works.
