I was really excited for this for my 3 year old. We don't have many screen time activities for her and I though this would be a great mix of hands on and screen time activities.
Firstly - the base is big, so this is awkward and tricky to store. There's only 1 good case out there but it's all huge. The ipad one looks much sleeker and smaller (and from what I can tell less buggy)
Secondly - the games. Overall they aren't developed enough, too limited in functionality and don't progress with difficulty to make things more challenging.
- Counting Town only goes to 10 currently, so is not worth it. It was too basic for my 3 year old, no idea how they think it's suitable for 3 - 5 year olds.
- Shape Builder - we are yet to get this game to work - i've been going back and forth with support and have sent logs, and it won't load
- Costume Party - not worth it as a game - we've barely played it
- Stories - this is my daughters favorite. It's a great concept and really responsive to when you change the costumes on the character, however there are limited stories so feels like we do the same stories over and over again. There's no way to make it more difficult or progress in anyway
- ABC's - good for practicing letters and sounds, again very simple and no way to make it more difficult
- Squiggle Magic - This is a good one, it's open ended so you can create characters and place them in these settings. Limitation is really that there aren't many settings and your settings fill up with the characters you've made.
I really wanted to love this but have been so disappointed with how limited it is.

Original review follows:
Very expensive way to waste a few hours trying to get the apps to work on a tablet that appears to be completely incompatible. Each and every app seems unable to access the camera - even when running the tablet in parent's mode and explicility granting camera access to each OSMO app. Each app gets "stuck" on the "center camera" step, and then if you skip it, the app acts like its working normally but then just shows yellow rectangles whenever an image of the play mat should be taken and shown. This product should not be marketed as "Fire Tablet compatible" when it doesn't even work with the Fire Tablets that Amazon is currently selling! I'd advise staying away from this product entirely if you are trying to use with a Fire Tablet, else contact the company to confirm compatibility with your specific tablet and version of Fire OS before purchasing!
10/5/20 update: she's still loving it - 5 stars highly recommend this because math is included. We're so happy I'm also buying for my sister's kids.

Got the kit but the Fire tablet doesn't fit because the webcam is along the landscape side not portrait! The latest Kids HD8 tablet requires an adapter which Amazon don't sell, you have to go direct to Osmo for and is another £15 which is shipped overseas. So thats going to take ages to come along. No mention of this anywhere, really disappointed.

Came all complete as new! Excellent Value for Money.
It's going to be a birthday present so the child hasn't used it, but we have another Osmo for iPad so we know it's a good learning tool.
