I used a trifold and just let this lay in the Thirsties cover (size 2). I'm sure this will not work overnight, but my daughter had just woken up, was squirmy, and wanted to eat. Less than two hours later (she was in her Go Pod), she was grunting and making weird faces, so I took her into the nursery to change her.
First off, her clothes were dry. This shocked me. I'm so used to her diapers leaking all the time. I figured that the trifold just laying in the cover wouldn't do much, but I was wrong. Next, I noticed that the prefold was SOAKED all the way through from top to bottom. However, my baby's skin was nearly dry! I only had to use one wipe for the first time ever. Finally, her diaper rash was completely gone!
For anyone worried that prefolds will limit your child's movement, I have included a video of my six-month-old, who has just started learning to crawl in the past couple of weeks.Read more ›

We purchased the Size 1 but the diapers shrink a lot after we been washing/drying for 3 weeks. The actual size is now 11" x 14" inches vs the original size suppose to be 12" x 16". BTW, It does not mention the layer (eg: 4x6x4, 4x8x4...etc.) I can only guess that it is the 4x6x4 version. Oh well...
BTW, if this is your first baby, I recommend ordering Three Size1 6-pack (total 18 diaper). We have 2 dozen of size1 and it became too small for our 2-month old boy. We just ordered 2 dozen of Premium size, hopefully it last (will update here). BTW, the quality between Premium and Regular are the same but Premium is a bit larger.
I'm very happy with the quality of these diapers. The problem is the shipping cost go up and down. In the past 2 months I have seen Free Shipping twice for all sizes. Then the rest of the time cost $10 or plus per dozen(ridiculously high). Finally I was lucky to order it with free shipping today. I'm putting down the price and size diff below for those who has time to wait for price drop. Of course if you are in a hurry, get it now. Cloth diaper will save parent a fortune. We once changed 24 diapers a day for our baby, he is always clean and happy. That worth every penny to us.
Most importantly they don't irritate her bum. I use Bordeaux's natural butt paste (green bottle) since it won't clog the cloth. On the rare occasion I have to use disposables, by 2 days of using the cloth any diaper rash starts fading and by 5-7 days its completely gone.
I didn't bother with a toilet sprayer, I just rinse mine in the basement slop sink when I have a small load (2 days worth, approx 24-30 diapers). I also use rock the green detergent for them in bare naked babies which I love.
We've been using these prefolds at 9 lbs (when her cord fell off) first we folded it in the back, we started front folding at 12 lbs. I think they might shrink a little because some do not fit the same as others, but its so subtle it's not an actual complaint, that's just why we started front folding. Even with a front fold she has yet to poo up past the back of the diaper (the back fold pocket would catch some of that before it went to disaster status).
She's 15 lbs now and we still have to fold it down in the front - but not nearly as much. By 18 lbs I'm guessing well stop folding down. Just to give you a size reference.
We also had the better fit infant size (purple edging, up to 16lbs) they were great too, these are still our main ones because they have a broader weight range (when rolling and pinning).

My newborn soaks right through these, even with an insert and a diaper cover he constantly wakes up completely soaked as well as his clothes and sheets. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Adrianna
