Osprey’s History
Since Osprey’s founding in 1974, every single product design bearing the Osprey name has passed through the hands of owner and founder Mike Pfotenhauer, undergoing relentless scrutiny. From stitching the first lines of custom-fitted packs, to meticulously designing innovative products with intuitive features, to forging personal relationships with the sewing operators who construct the packs, Mike has been the unbreakable thread that makes Osprey a top company.
Osprey Daylite Pack
The one small, do-all bag you can use on any trip
The Daylite is at home on a 14,000-foot summit or on a trip to the local farmer’s market. Designed to attach to a number of Osprey’s larger packs and travel bags for use as a separate pod pack on day trips away from base camp, it is the perfect companion on any trip. Access to the main compartment is easy with a large zippered panel. Side mesh pockets hold water bottles and other sundries while a front pocket with a mesh organizer and key clip secure small items in a single secure spot.

The bag itself is very lightweight, the only section of the bag which has structural padding is the back and the straps, the rest of the bag is made of light albeit tough material that doesn't really hold shape, so the bag looks kinda wrinkly if it isn't fully packed, but this is the price you have to pay for a light weight bag. If the bag isn't fully packed there are some adjustable buckle straps that can be shortened to give the bag a more define shape though, and this actually works pretty well. The bad does have good capacity with two compartment; a larger one which has a sleeve for a small laptop (14" and below), and a smaller one with a key fob and some netted partitions.
The bag has some odly shaped side nets which can be used to hold water bottles and stuff. They are actually designed to be accessible by hand as you wear the bag and not really for water bottles; coz the bag has a pouch for a hydration pack. I've used the nets to hold my phones, power bank and travel charger on rides. Fitting a tallish water bottle in them is kinda tricky but not impossible.
It also has chest and hip straps which thankfully are removable, if you have no use for them.
The back of the bag is very resistant to sweat. It is made of foam and netting which doesn't absorb sweat, and so it dries very quickly, the straps are also made if a very porous netting (so porous infact it is almost see through), which allows sweat to dry from it very quickly.
My only gripe is with how the straps have been configured at the top...when I tighten up the shoulders straps, the top part of the straps where the straps join kinda cuts into the back of my neck. The obvious solution is to loosen the straps so the bag hands little lower, but I like wearing the bags high on my back so that it doesn't tub on my trouser belt. This though depends on how your shoulders are shaped and how high you like to wear your backpacks and in that regard, this is a very minor problem.
There's plenty of space in the pack and, as previously stated, it does have some pockets but it isn't a ridiculous amount. I also really like the key clip feature on the front inside pocket because no one likes finally getting back to their car after an exhausting hike and having a panic moment when they can't immediately find their keys. I also appreciate the option for a hydration bladder as well as the bottle holders on both sides.
As far as the actual pack construction goes it is very well made and what you would expect from Osprey. The zippers are smooth with large, durable pulls and they are covered by a flap of the exterior material of the pack when closed. The straps and the back of the pack are wonderfully breathable and well padded.
The bottom line is I would totally buy this pack again. A good day pack is essential for any adventurer and this is one of the best ones on the market.

I got this so I have plenty of space when going on long cycles or hikes, and am thrilled with it. Gorgeous colour as well!
