I ordered the desert khaki however the pack I received is more of a foliage green color which I actually ended up liking!
Plenty of pockets and organizational pockets/dividers
Slim however it expands very well
Compression straps- specifically the lower ones to help hold water bottles in place something their daylite pack does not feature and a lot of negative reviews indicate water bottles fall out easily
Pull tabs for zipper are sturdy and easy to grab/use
Waist belt is flimsy and does not seem to offer much support (however it is detachable which is a plus)
Compression straps- on the top seem to get in the way, I do not foresee myself carrying enough weight with this pack to justify "sinching it down" as I would do with a much larger multi-day pack
Overall I am very pleased with this pack and I would highly recommend it!
I wanted a versatile backpack and this is what I ended up with after a lot of researching on the internet. Right now I use it for school but it looks like it'll be great for light hiking and traveling as well. If you want a closer look at the backpack, go to the osprey website and they have a nice 3d view of this pack.
So lets get to the nitty gritty. The backpack is light and the materials are somewhat thin, but are of good quality. I wouldn't worry too much about anything tearing or breaking, osprey's known for their quality and they have a lifetime warranty. The zippers are awesome, they have nice loops to grab onto. Other reviews had said they had problems with the zipper snagging on the flaps that cover them, but if you pull them back it isn't really an issue. By the way, the flaps are a great design to protect the zippers/compartments from water. The only zipper that's annoying is on the front organizer pocket where you can put small items in and your keys on a key fob. Sometimes it's a little hard to open and close, but it's really not an issue at all. The main compartment has a laptop sleeve for up to a 15 inch laptop and a document sleeve as well. There's an mp3 pocket at the top of the main compartment and you can route the headphones through a port to the outside. There's also a small zipper stash compartment in the main compartment which is nice.Read more ›
It has a great set of zippers and pockets.
It has two sleeves in the main compartment to separate your magazines or laptop from the main compartment.
It has a small compartment for an MP3 player in there as well with place for the headphones to come out as well.
A great little front pocket with mesh sleeves to organize your pens tooth, brush or whatever.
